Series 1 drivers unite! ;D
Maybe for the minute but my next one is a series 2 (no choice in that though)

I love our Series 1 but I have to admit my nose was put out of joint when I found out
the red one parked next to Jet in the showroom when we picked her up was a Series 2,
I felt that even though we were buying a brand new car she somehow felt 'old' in the sence
that they had already bought out another series.  I wouldn't change her though...

Question:
Does anyone have brake squeal on the Series 2?...

Yep, I felt the same when we had our S1 a few weeks only to find out there was an S2 released.  However when the only difference is a key (big deal) and the crappy flashing indicators under heavy braking (stupid idea), I'm quite glad I have an S1.

If you're trying to work out the build date of your car, have a look around the rear seats. There are usually dated stickers showing ( presumably ) the date the seat was made. In my case July 2008, so the car must have been put together some time shortly after that.

Or they could have a stock of 10000 seats that have come from the manufacturer that sit in a warehouse until they are ready to be put togethor ::)
The only way to know for sure is to ask your dealer the build week of your car. Be aware though that this can only be done before the car is registered. Once the car as been registered the details are removed from the Link system and I dont think the build wek appears on the consignment note (I could be wrong about the last bit though, I would have to check one).

The hazzards flashing under breaking is a real pain. You haven't got be be breaking hugely hard, and then you hear it, that annoying ticka-ticka-ticka-ticka. They should change it to make the break lights flash like they do on the newer Mercs, makes much more sence in my mind.

The lane change is a good idea, i quite like that, but sometimes in my car when the indicator auto cancels, it can flick so hard off, that it catches the lane changing bit, and suddenly i'm giving 3 flashes the other way.

I hate it when the hazards flash. I always get it going along some of the back roads where I live. Mostly when braking because I see a car coming in the other direction and have to dive into the hedge / passing place. All they see is a car coming towards them flashing the hazard lights at them. If I want my hazard light on, I'll stick them on myself. Maybe Chunkymonkey knows if there is any way of switching them off.

I also get the thing with the indicators cancelling out and then flicking on in the other direction. It's a right pain, but not as bad as the indicators that I had on a Vectra that I had about 5 years ago - Never again!

kept meaning to have a look at that but never got round to it, i would imagine you couldnt as its a 'safety feature'.

not in work for nearly 2 weeks now so wont have a chance for a while.

The ones on the Astra hire bucket we had last week were a nightmare so they haven't improved. I know the 500s are supposed to have this feature as well but I haven't seen them doing it on mine, maybe I just don't drive it hard enough  :)

If you dont see them flash soon Olopboy, the Abarth police will be round to remove the car from someone who is "undeserving". Dont let this happen, as Rich always says "drive it like you've stolen it" :thumb:

Indicators not flashing olopboy??!!! You're definitely not trying hard enough. On my last test drive visit I thought I'd accidently switched on the hazard warning lights they were flashing so much (sorry John  ). :thumb:

Of course, this must have been a fault with both cars as I never exceed the legal speed limits! ::)

As most of my journeys are urban if you start to push the car any its the other cars that become a problem they just don't react well, they see a small car so assume it will be slow so they can pull out  >:( So granny mode most of the time to save my body work
