Bits gone wrong.... (Character!)
« on: June 02, 2009, 11:02:46 PM »
What problems have people had with their AGP?

I've got some loose trim in the driver side footwell, the bonet catch in the passengers footwell came off in my hands, my door squeaks and rattles quite loud, i've got a faint vibrating noise from my dash, and yesterday, the cog you turn to recline the seat came off in the girlfriend's hand (passengers side - and she's a total weed!)

Hopefully just a few "new car" issues which will be easily sorted.

The bonnet catch was possibley my fault, i was expecting a pop noise when i had turned it enough, there is no such noise. Luckly its just fitted back on by itself.

nearly did that bonnet catch thing myself, its just so quiet unlatching,

my only problem, and it seams to be common, is the creaking front suspension, dealers are sorting it out, see separate thread

i know it sounds silly, but do you use a USB stick in the car? if so does it have a key ring on it? the reason i ask is because if you do, as you drive the car its the keyring bit that you can here making the rattling noise....

try driving the car without the USB stick in.... if theres no rattle then thats whats causing it and i then sugest taking off the keyring part.

as for the back suport recliner coming off.... thats a new one to me :S

My footwell trim came loose also. Fixed.
Indicator lane change function comes on when it steer for the indcator to catch itself off. Happens when im steering fast. Very annoying!! Got a new indicator stick. Solved it for two days but its back with vengence.
Squealing brakes if i don't wash the car very often. Will ask for shims to be fitted when it's next in for the indicator.

Things to keep an eye on-

Back of my seat seems to be coming loose a bit ???
Skydome doesn't look like it's shutting perfectly straight. Only noticed it when i was washing it. Seems to sit a fraction higher on the passenger side. Doesn't leak. Probably nothing.

Car needs some character right?

Cars do need character, you are right.  ;)

I do use the USB, but its not that for sure, there's no key ring to rattle. Thanks for the idea though. Also, its on the drivers side.

I get a rattle (apparently in front of the instrument binnacle) only at certain speeds and certain road surfaces.

Although the service tech has heard it, the noise has proved impossible to reproduce in the garage, so it persists.

When it stops, I will assume something has fallen off.

when i really go for it i get a disgusting noise from the engine at around 100mph all the way up to about 120mph. I found this out on a track day of course before anyone asks.

That's only an indicated 130.  Giving it 107% according to my TomTom.

1.21 am?

Oil coming out of the oilgaugerod (hopefully the translation is correct). To much turbopressure, to less turbo when sportboost is off they said.

No problem found... Waiting for a new motor now. Hopefully fixed after that.

Further no problems at all, just some minor things (like screenwashing while driving).

Any familair with this kind of problem with the AGP or an other car?

The only thing wrong with mine is that there doesn't seem to be any juice coming out of the 12V cigarette lighter thing. It's a small niggle but if I can't keep my sat nav and phone charged up on long journeys I'm going to have to take it back to the dealer for a look.

Anyone know if there's a secret button for turning it on?
