Catalytic converter - Useful information
« on: January 28, 2012, 01:12:08 AM »

I have seen these questions asked many times and even asked it myself but have never got a definitive answer . . . . until now.

'Is the catalytic converter fitted during the Esseesse upgrade an uprated/sports cat?'
and
'What is the cell count of both the standard cat and Esseesse cat?'

After many emails and telephone calls I have had the following information confirmed by Abarth HQ in Turin:

The cell count for both catalytic converters is 600.  The only reason the catalytic converter is changed during the Esseesse upgrade is for connecting compatibility to the replacement Garrett turbocharger.

I thought this info would be useful to share as i'm sure many believe, as I did, that the Esseesse cat was an improvement over the standard cat.

This must strangle the performance quite a bit so it's time to source a nice 200 cell sports cat and see what happens   ;D

Has anyone changed the cat on their AGP (NP or SS)?
