Cracked headlight
« on: March 07, 2010, 10:17:51 AM »
I have found a crack about 2 inches long on the nearside headlight just on the panel gap with the bonnet, I can't tell if it has been caused by a stone or if the cold weather has caused the lens to fail. Has anyone else had a similar problem, and if you have had to change the headlight how much did it cost?

I think they cost £270 for the pair. Not sure how I know that but it seems to ring a bell. Don't hold me to it though!

I remember reading that on here somewhere as well. And they only come as a pair.

My passenger side rear light cluster has several hairline cracks in it. Could be due to the freezing weather - I'm not sure. Anyway, it's full of condensation and looks bloody awful. Almost as bad as all the scratches down the left hand side and rear of the car.

Thanks, I'll try and get to the dealer today and look into getting replacements, it's one of those things that will annoy me until I get it sorted. I'll let you know how I get on.

Called into Lipscombs this morning, they were very helpful, they have had a look at the headlight and taken some photos to send to Fiat/Abarth to see if it can be replaced under warranty. Just waiting to hear from them with an answer.

I've had some good news about this, I called into Lipscombs today and although they have not had a response from Fiat they are going to change it for free. This is mainly because it's not the result of a stone chip but a fault with the lens.

Yeah, also while it's in there the springs will be swapped for Eibach items, it'll almost be a new car when it's finished.
