esse esse tyres?
« on: November 19, 2011, 07:44:25 PM »
after taking the motor out today i noticed that the tyres looking little low on tread so will need a change in next 1000 miles, i have pirelli p zeros on the front and a set of falken k series on the back, was just wondering what other tyres people have had and how different tyres perform with the agp ss?

I personally don't like the P Zeros so I'll be replacing them with Bridgestone RE050A

I had them on my alternative wheels and didn't like them either. I know there's a few 500 owners who rate them highly though.

Wouldn't use anything else for spring/summer/autumn use on the road. Soft sidewall is my only criticism...

Toyo T1R's are ace, had them on pretty much all of my previous Japanese cars and they were surprisingly good for the price.  I don't know what they don't suite every car though and I'm still using the original p-zero nero's on the SS.

Had RE050's on my Grande Punto Sporting and they weren't very good, they gripped ok but were really noisy and always felt a little too 'hard'.

P-Zeros are good in the dry. They're not bad in the wet, but you have to get them warm. The tread pattern doesn't lend itself to wet weather. Hence I bought the T1Rs...

Nothing will divide opinions like tyres.

I thought the P Zero's were OK but not good enough to buy again.

I've tried a few different makes now and I have found Kumho tyres to be an excellent everyday tyre.  First tried the KU31's which I found to have good dry and wet grip and a very progressive breakaway action.

Last week had a set of KU39's fitted, first impression is that they feel as good if not better (though this might be because the KU31's were getting a bit thin!)  Turn in seems really precise, car feels better than it has on any other tyre.

I think as long as you avoid the really cheap Chinese tyres then you can't go much wrong   :thumb:

P zeros were really good until they get below 4 mil then they are noisy.

The best tyre I have come across is the Michelin ps3 great all round tyre amazing grip in the wet also

Totally agree with AB4RTH, for an all round tyre they are great. They can also take a little track action if required.

Fantastic in the dry but stay well clear in this weather :thumbd:
