The sales people understand but the underwriters dont, the underwriters have said that i still need to insure my car as it is "fiat grande punto abarth t-jet" and list all the modifications that the SS kit includes, even thou they have "fiat grande punto abarth SS t-jet" in their list.

It is to do with waranty they don't want it to extend past the 3 years on the car (you get 2years on the SS kit)

3 grand!?! i dont understand that at all, they will be fitting that kit at a loss!

What makes you say that?  It's not much lower than we paid for the SS kit, fitted from Research.
There's a margin on the kit and also for fitting built in.  I guess if they've got a few kits hanging around unsold, then it makes sense to turn them into cash even if you don't make much on fitting.

I was at research today and have placed an order on one, they said they are selling them at cost as until they sell these kits they cant get the new ss kits,so thats why they are selling them at a loss and also to keep customers coming back for more! I also checked the price of the new ss kits and it was coming up as 4500 aarrrrhhhhhh!!!! Cry

Forgive a 500's ignorance, but what's new about the new kits?

That sounds wrong as the new hasn't even appeared as a proper picture yet so I can't imagine Turin stopping the ordering of SS kits in preperation... could be they just ordered a number expecting a rush that never happened and now just need to move them on.

Apologies for the confusion, and yes chris you are right! They need to get rid of these now as when they have the next lot of kits if they still have the old stock, and the new stock arrives, then the dealer will have the new and old stock to get rid of! Say for assistance if the dealer has 3 kits left, then has a further 5 kits, the dealer will have 8 kits to get rid of in that finacial year, but if they get rid of the three kits now, then when they have the new kits, then theybhave only 5 to get rid of!! Hope this helps?and when I said new kits I didn't mean new as in new just a replacement of the the other kits, sorry for any confusion caused  Cry
