GP Front brake sizes
« on: January 09, 2012, 04:42:16 PM »
Hi, i have a Grande Punto t-jet (i know not quite an Abarth) with the Abarth turbo and lots of other performance bits and as my brakes are coming to the end of there usefull life i want to upgrade them. I have heard the standard AGP comes with upgraded brakes from the t-jet which if i got hold of calipers/discs/pads would be a bolt on upgrade?

Thanks
Rich

I believe you can bolt them on (Brembo 4-pot callipers) however, the standard sporting/t-jet wheels will not fit over them..

So you will need:

Brembo 4-pot callipers + Discs + Pads, New Wheels....

Gets quite costly... may as well just buy an Abarth... not my money tho ;)
Black AGP, alternate alloys, dual zone climate, sun roof, sub + 12v

The front discs size is 305mm. believe me there is alot more to the Abarth than just a turbo and brake upgrade.

I need to buy new discs and pads anyway so i dont mind paying extra for the calipers  :thumb: and i already have some TD Pro Race 1.2 17's et38 - i think they should fit under those

You do realise that the calipers are probably over £2000 to buy?

It's very costly a quick search showed prices around £1300 for the brake upgrade but since you have already got few Abarth bits on it already you are probably already commited to it like I am with tuning etc on my Abarth.
AGP scorpian black, custom quad exhaust, carbon fibre wrapped bonnet, spoiler and centre console, forge intercooler, induction kit, boost hoses,TMC tuned, eibach sportlines.

I managed to source brembo calipers/pads/discs for about 1/3rd that price, second hand and its probably the only kit i can find in the uk for sale!

Will i need to do anything to the brake lines to make them fit?
Can anyone confirm that the brembos from an abarth will fit under 17 inch TD Pro race 1.2 wheets with a et38 offset?

Once you've declared your brake upgrade to your insurer it will go through the roof.
