grinding noise when turning
« on: October 14, 2011, 09:25:38 PM »
If i take a corner (a little too) fast, i hear a grinding noise. It happens during tighter corners.

I have no idea whats causing this. Its v odd.

My old one on tight corners goin at speed did this. it seemed to doit most at Oliver mount. It was the arch on the tyre don't know why as it was secured but had rub marks on it.

It sounds more metallic than that.

Imagine you were stirring an empty metal saucepan, with a metal spoon, really fast.

I would say no, especially if it is getting worse and you are doing some mileage. I don't want to alarm you, but you would not want a total failure.

I've got this when turning right. Having it looked at next Wednesday. Will report back here once I know what it is.

I'm thinking it could be the CV joint but after reading the suggestions, the sensible ones that is, I'm not so sure now?

is there a metal disc guard on these cars, had this on other vehicles that could have been bent that rubs on turning?

I've recently had this problem. It's the guard on the brake caliper. I've tried to straighten it put but it's just got worse. When I get my new brake pads im removing the guards

Same as above (when turning left), happening on mine too. I think its the anti squeal shim.

I also plan to replacing the pads soon, so ill do it then, highly annoying! :-@
