today i discovered that SS front brake discs last 30000 miles. i have a spare set under the sofa so i will put them on.
the old ones seem to have plenty of meat on them but are obviously not flat anymore. there is a local garage which skims discs, i'll see if they can recondition them and make them fit for further service, will keep you informed
