By the way, can the car get checked twice for the esseesse kit authorisation?

Checking the over-rev info involves just plugging the car into the Examiner system, so can be done any number of times. :thumb:

Just to clarify, you can't over rev a modern engine when changing up ie from 1st to 2nd as the rev limiter will cut in preventing any damage to the engine. Of course the longer an engine is kept at high revs the quicker the engine will wear out as it is revs that kill an engine. However what happened in your case cannot be prevented by electronics and the engine could _potentially_ be damaged. As John said, if the engine is running fine now I seriously doubt there is anything wrong. You would have known all about it if you had as you probably would have heard an almightly clatter from the engine injesting a valve!

I almost bought a new-ish 911 a few years ago from a main dealer that seemed strangely down on power. When I found out it had been a press car I checked out the over rev data from the ECU. Lo and behold the thing had been totally thrashed with long periods of missed downchanges and over revs. If it's only happened once and very briefly you have nothing to worry about!  :thumb:
As Keith Richards tells it, Jones came up with the name "The Rollin' Stones" (later with the 'g') while on the phone with a venue owner. "The voice on the other end of the line obviously said, 'What are you called?' Panic. The Best of Muddy Waters album was lying on the floor—and track one was 'Rollin' Stone Blues'".
