Hi, just wondering if anyone has has any problems with their Abarth eg brake squeals, knocks rattles etc??

Reason being that our AGP currently has brake squeal (on the ss brakes) a knocking noise at the rear & a lot of water is getting into the rear offside footwell when the rain is heavy. Taking it back to platts for them to replace the carpet (with it being soaked), find where the water is getting in & for them to try & resolve the brake/knocking problem (for the 4th time).

Only done 8k in it & just wondered if its me picking a faulty one at the beginning or if others have the same problems.

Would never get rid of the car because of these problems, as i love it, just find it slightly irritating that after paying nearly £19k for a car it has these kind of problems after 7 months.

I also have the squeaky brakes, forgot to mention them last time I took her in.

Question for technically minded people: Is it a serious problem apart from the annoying noise or okay to be left till I get round to it?

It's only when I am braking lightly, goes away whenever I brake harder, so I've just learnt to drive faster to compensate

i asked about the anti squeal shims & they have said they do not yet have any available for the upgraded brakes, hoping they will this time.

As for the knocking noise its over bumps, they have been down the door latch route & it doesnt seem to have solved it, the noise actually sounds as if its coming from the underneath of the car???

yeah slammed the seats, noise is still there, had a look under neath myself & noticed the surround from the hand brake cable is a little loose & was knocking, fastened it up & noise seems to have got less often, but still something not right. Platts are looking into it now tho.

As for the water, it was apparently getting in through the bulkhead, this is now being resealed & new carpet etc being fitted. Fingers crossed for no more water!!
