Not quite.  Torque = turning force, Power = work done per unit time.

More correctly, Power is proportional to torque x revs.

If you look at power curves, they're exactly the same shape as torque curves but with an added gradient directly related to engine speed.

torque is the twisting effort of your engine and power is the speed at which this work is done. The 2 are basically the same thing.

If 2 identical cars raced and one changed at 5750rpm and the other at peak revs, the latter would be quicker .

had a quick look at the spec for an ss. max power is at 5750 rpm so nothing to be gained going beyond that in intermediate gears, max torque is at  2750 so as long as you dont drop below that after the up change it should keep pulling, will have a close look tomorrow

this principle has been in my head for years so if i,m barking up the wrong tree here someone please put me right

I've no idea if your idea is correct but it certainly feels about right.

not sure about going faster side but you should always learn rev matching when slowing down and gear changing. If this is mastered it is a good skill to have, especially on the track

try using the boost gauge on the vehicles display, but you got to turn the radio off for it to be seen Wave

At least the boost gauge moves, the date just stays the same. All day, in fact.

That said, the calendar is probably more accurate than the boost gauge.
