Stone Chip
« on: October 28, 2009, 11:42:37 AM »
I have quite a bad stone chip in my otherwise lovely white paintwork. Its located just behind the back side window. its gone right down to the metal work.

Any advise on whats best to fix it? I hoping something from halfords.

If it was on a plastic part of the car i probably wouldn't worry, but i could do without my brand new car rusting over the winter!!  :o

I got a touch up pen with the A500 when i bought it. It comes in handy for the chips and the colour match is 100%. It's white one end, gloss the other, small brush like you get with nail varnish. Worth asking your dealer, should cost about £10.

268 is bosa nova white and is a Fiat colour.
Unfortunately the 1949 white on G.P. is still not available yet :thumbd:

Even more unfortunate is the fact that the 1949 white is the least consistent paint colour I have ever seen on a production car!  I parked next to 2 other '1949 white' AGP's at the dealers and one was 'fridge white', one 'ivory white' and mine looked 'creamy white'.  Some time ago I did hear that some paint had been stolen from Longbridge..........

Mine is Scorpion Black so there's no paint stick.  And I got the worst stone chip ever after 6 days when baby was new, right on the bonnet and down to the metal.  So when I had my boyfriend's scratch ironed out from somebody who drove into the rear (he's unlucky you know, so I won't let him drive my car again) I got this brochure of a mobile guy who fixes scratches and stuff from my trusted mechanic Keith at Auto Integrale.  He did a good job on the accident scratch at the rear and on the stone chip on my bonnet.  Except, I can't find the brochure thing right now.  I'll look for it tomorrow.  The guy operates out of Newbury, he used to run Modern Paint and Autobody in Beenham near Reading. so he knows what he is doing.  If I can find the brochure, I will let you know his phone number, unless you already got it fixed.

The paint code for 1949 white is apparently 204/B if that helps at all.
