Taken out the rear seats
« on: October 30, 2011, 01:12:58 AM »
Today, I undertook the task of removing my rear seats from the Car. It was hard work  :'(

Anyone fitted a roll cage or rear strut braces at all. Cant seem to find either on the web so I'm guessing that they would have to be made up especially for the Abarth?

|Can someone point me in the right direction pleae : )

It's not once you've done it a few times!  I had to turn my GPS into a van 4 times a year to take the ex's sister to uni and back, fun fun fun!

As for the roll cage, I wouldn't know..  One thing worth bearing in mind is that insurance companies generally HATE roll cages.

On the other hand I know there are rear braces for the Fiat Grande Punto...  http://www.ultraracing.com.my/Bars.asp?ID=3970

Thanks for that mateyy. One of my friends said tonight that you have to tell the insurance company about taking the rear seats out as its technically classed as a van? True or not : s

No probs!

As for the van comment, providing you've still got the seat belts in place then technically its only a temporary change..

I took the interior out of my old Honda CRX back in the day to find a water leak, it was out for a good 3 to 4 weeks and no one ever said anything.. Even in the name times I was pulled over the old bill didnt ask (that car used to attract the police like god knows what!)

To be on the safe side Id just call them?
