warrantee work and wasted day....
« on: July 24, 2009, 05:38:59 PM »
had a bit of a wasted day today.... took car to Petch this morning for some warrantee work, - steering growning (turns out to be top mount as expected), indicator stick self canceling and triggering other side, and brakes,

the top mount needs parts ordering, so that didnt get fixed,

the indicator stick refused to bloody do it so that didnt get sorted,

the shims were fitted to the brakes and i havnt heard a wisper from them, funny thing is i didnt take it in for this.... they only started squeeling when the tech took it out for a drive!!!

one good thing did come of today though, met up with alex gregory, who took me out for a spin in his A500 and then we had a chat and a coffee, - top bloke  :thumb:

Don't you just hate it when the problem suddenly stops playing up, convinced my gear box can see the 'Corby 5 miles' sign  ;D

Pain about the top mounts as that seems to be  bit of re-occurring problem but I can see 'some' of the reasons why they would want to make 100% sure before ordering the warranty parts. It all seems so much more of an effort for Abarth owners due to the distances we have to travel.

I took my car in for the brakes and the indicators playing up (did my head in bad wish they had basic indicators and still do) awhile ago now they did not take my car out for a drive to see the problems for themselves and just sorted everything they took my word on it.

It feels so much better once the indicator stalk gets changed over it was a relief for me still does it now and then though.
This seems to be a common fault so they are aware of it should have changed the indicator stalk.

They did everything there and then for me all within a few hours

Is this indicator problem, that when they self cancel, so click to "lane change" the other way? Mine does that ALL the time.

Yes thats it you indicate one way do your turn it then self cancels and lane changes the other way.

It annoyed me so bad plus if you think about it if someone is waiting to come out of a junction and it does this they may think you are going to then turn that way if you got a turning straight after the one you have just come out of and they may pull out on you.

Most people my way will pull out of a junction based on where you indicate not based on your speed and whether your car looks like it is going to turn off. They also never use correct lane on roundabout and beep and swear at you if you use correct lane but thats different subject.

Then the front end of your GPA could look abit different. :thumbd:

If you got this problem get it sorted as it can confuse other road users.

I had a new indicator stick fitted. 4 days later it started again. It's so annoying sometimes.
