It was sad to see the 500 1.4 Sport go, so many people came up and said what a nice car it was. It looked good but needed a little more go.

Test drove and Abarth 500 when they came out at our local dealer Petch, then it was only a matter of time.

We picked the car up last Thurday and headed for the North Yorks moors to start the running in process. It has not disappointed and you can see how they have made various improvements that are not apparent at first.

Jobs done so far a good polish with my favourite polish, wheels treated with jetseal 109 supposed to stop the brake dust sticking to the wheels, mudflaps made for the front because the Sport was badly chipped at the bottom of the b pillar and windows treated with Rainex.

It is a shame we missed you at Harewood, it is only a few miles from us, maybe next year.

All for now

I'm at Harewood this Saturday if you want to come and say 'Hello'.  That goes for anyone close to Harewood, or anyone who just fancies a run out because they've nowt else to do.

It's a standard meeting http://www.harewoodhill.com/  Saturday and Sunday, but I'm just there on the Saturday.
I take pics for the Ferrari people and it's just a good day out.

Paula,

The car was one of quite a few in stock at Petch, they had optioned more or less everything we wanted.

It is Bossa nova white, red mirrors, stripes, auto air con, fill red leather and 5 petal wheels.

We did see a car in black, white stripes black interior and I think the glass roof, we were nearly tempted as SWMBO likes black cars, I hate keeping them clean, but it had already been sold.

We waited 3 weeks for the new reg and another week while we were on holiday. Not a long wait the time flew by.

Our own spec car would have been considered if I had known that xenon headlamps were available and it is a pity cruise control is not an option.

There are a few niggles but not anything to make much of an issue.

Pity I did not know about saturday, got a family do on.

Thanks for the welcome it is a shame I only found this forum last week, It might have influenced the final options chosen.

No it was not me, I did read the post on another thread that one had been spotted.

I did wonder of all the 500's built, what proportion would be Abarths?

Everytime I go into Petch there seems to be at least half a dozen Abarths in the compound, the thing is, they are a different half dozen every time.

I would have to ask Jonny how many he has sold. I suppose the catchment area for each Abarth dealer is huge as they are so few and far between.
