Allo allo.
« on: October 16, 2011, 09:28:04 PM »
Bonjour and good evening to you all!

Thought I'd sign up now as I browse here a fair bit. Never had a reason to post, but now I've got the funds for an Abarth and I'm on the hunt, so, figured I'd drop in and say hi.

Started looking for an AGP SS under the 20k mile mark (still tempted by an APE). Originally looked at Astra VXR's, but they're just too common, added in with high tax, MPG and other things, AGP looks a nicer buy for what I want from a car!

From Worcestershire area (between Worcs & Chelt), not sure how many of you are near there as I've yet to see an Abarth around here! I'll undoubtedly be throwing some questions in General or AGP soon, so any help/words of wisdom there would be hugely appreciated.

-James

Hello James and welcome to the forum; I am sure you will find a wealth of helpful advice here.

I live in Solihull but I travel down to Worcester - Cheltenham - and Bristol from time to time.

Abarths are rare in the context of other brands therefore you won't see them left, centre and right. Neither will you trip over them (unless you are at the nearest Abarth dealer of course!)

Good luck in your Abarthsearch, keep us updated.

Thought I'd update this and thanks for all the welcomes!

Put an ad up in the classifieds early November, and last Sunday picked up an AGP-SS, 09 plate (with warranty until July), 11k miles, climate control, Sabelts in cloth (and standard full leathers thrown in as well!) in 1949 white with red strip/mirrors and anthra/titanium alloys! Bought it from Matthew on here, great guy/family to deal with! :)

Very very happy, considering I only found out about Abarth mid-summer. Only downside is I won't be driving it until Jan 2012 because More Than don't want to swap me over from a little ZR to an SS - apparently they aren't fond of under 25's on a group-17 car. And I don't fancy taking out a policy on an SS without my 4 years NCB (soon to be 5, hopefully!) as it will cost me £1k+

But, life story over, I'll try and get a couple of pictures up soon! When I'm not feeling lazy and the weather is substantially warmer :thumb:

Hope to get to know everyone on here a bit more, especially anyone local to the west-mids!

Cheers,
James
