Another Bristolian here!
« on: September 28, 2011, 10:44:27 AM »
Morning everyone..

Pick up a new A500 on Saturday for my Missus, all the way from Thames in Slough. After many chats with dealers within a 100 miles radius of Bristol including Wessex looking for a minimal spec black one in stock we settled on Thames as Abb was very professional and courteous plus did an amazing deal on our existing 500 byDiesel that we could not replicate anywhere else.

Looking forward to the drive home :)

The missus is all about subtlety so the car is black, no decals, 17" 10 spokes and dealer fitted chrome mirrors.  Plus free mats and a tank of fuel too of course  ;)

Welcome! :thumb:

I am currently waiting to pick mine up from them too.
(Hopefully today or tomorrow!)

Forum here is a very helpful community as far as I have experienced.

Enjoy your A500 ;D

Thanks for the welcome.  I've always loved the Abarth brand - I'm a proper italian car nut  :thumb:

Back in 2008 I made an Abarth blog, in anticipation of getting an AGP and part exchanging a GP Sporting.  In the end we didn't go through with it and therefore the blog withered without my interest.

It's good to see such a good forum here and as a bonus there's also high standards of spelling and grammar  ;D

Hello and welcome.

Runmour has it that I live in Bristol, too.... Stoke Gifford to be precise, though at present that feels more like my mailing address and belongings store rather than I place I actually use!

Thanks again for the welcomes.

I spent a large amount of time over the day talking to my insurance broker trying to do a mid-term adjustment to our existing policy for the Abarth.  They were telling me the company wouldn't insure it and must take a new policy out with a new company.  I thought this strange as I could do a new policy on the brokers website and would come up with the same insurance company Axa.

Finally after many phonecalls I discovered that the woman on the end of the phone was inputting the car as the 695.  Gahhh.  Sorted now  :thumb:

Got the car yesterday, everything went smoothly.

The Sport button really makes a difference doesn't it?!  I like the brakes - very progressive and not grabby like many other marques.

Gonna go the long way round to get some Tesco 99 in a bit  :D
