Hello All....
« on: January 02, 2012, 06:41:50 PM »
Happy New Year everyone, I thought it about time to introduce myself, my name is Dan and I have an A500C Auto. ABSOLUTELY LOVE FLAPPY PADDLE GEARBOX!!! Had it from new a couple of months now and never had a car that makes me feel really happy when driving it, and none that draw so much attention its incredible.

I have just noticed the gathering at the Angel Inn Blyth on Saturday 14th January, I would really like to come but I have never been to anything like this before, so may give it try is anyone from Sheffield going?

Welcome Dan, to the little big happy forum. And happy new year to you too.

That's a sizzling colour combination - no decals anywhere!

I'm quite certain the Yorks gang will welcome you with open arms.

Without wanting to sound pedantric, I noticed that you used the words 'Fiat 500' rather than 'Abarth 500'..... at the bottom of your posts.

Fiat or not, I look forward to seeing your little red car then.

Ha! Well done.

You can tell me about your experiences with the flappy gearbox then. I have had my A500c for over 15 months now.

Hmmm. It is not good in Auto mode as the manual mode as there tends to be a momentary pause before it changes gear. When I drive it in manual, I 'blip' the throttle to ensure a smooth shift. I guess each other will have differing opinions.

Comparsion? Yes, a Ferrari or Lamborghini with the paddle shift gearbox! I drove cars with them and the shifts were lightning fast!
