Hi

Have to say I quite like the Mini 4x4 (which I didn't think I would)... The CRV is an amazing car, build quality that puts Audi to shame, and seems mechanically bullet proof.... It's a big ugly tank, but it does what it does very well.

Thank you all for your good wishes.
I drove Westover Motors (Poole) Black 500 the day before yesterday. FANTASTIC! CAme across the back of a Grockle up in the Purbeck hills, dropped it 2 cogs and floored it ......... where'd he go! :o   Lady friend next to me nearly had kittens. But being Police class 3 trained the manoeuvre was perfectly executed of course
Great fun B U T I am 64 ( in body 25 in mind) and a long ago slipped disc does not approve of the suspension. I asked If a free Chiropractor was supplied with every car but apparently not.
I think the suspension must have been an extra on the car I drove! Having 40 aspect tyres on it does not help. I hit the edge of a sunken manhole cover approaching a roundabout and I seriously though I had cracked the wheel rim the jolt actually hurt my neck.
So.................. I await the more softly sprung convertible before I decide. Watch this space.....................
It has been suggested that some of the more petrol headed amongst you may be interested in seeing the previous cars I haver owned. So I shall put the list in the forum now.
TTFN.
Colin.
p.s. A500SSBOB. No not in Dune ;) I thought I was being clever.... Abarth=Scorpion=Sting!

did the black 500 have the esseesse kit on it? that does indeed have a much harder ride than the standard 500 abarth, but be worth looking into.

it certainly is a spirited drive  ;D

Colin

I read your comments in particular

There may be a solution that fraserwh who (and i hope he doesn't mind me mentioning this) is fairly close to you in age as he has put a considerable amount of work into his suspension this link will probably what you need to refer to http://www.abarthforum.co.uk/500-abarth-tuning/new-shocks/ Might be worth consideration.

The rear suspension on the Abarth 500 is shared with the Ford Ka which has recently been adopted by all Fiat 500's in production as the set up used to be different.

Trust this might help.
