Hi,

Only found the forum last night, but as I have an A500 SS on order from Ajay at Thames I thought I would join up. There seems to be a ton of info here already and some very knowledgeable folk.

I am currently driving a 2008 build Audi A4 3.0TDI S-Line Quatro, which I have had since new - and I can not WAIT to chuck the keys back at them and get into my 'pocket rocket'. The A4 is a quick car (probably quicker than the A500) but it doesnt feel quick, and that was my over riding feeling on both of the test drives I did with the Abarth. I came back from the run in the SS version beaming from ear to ear.

A little side benefit is going to be the amount of money I will be saving each month :-) 

I have gone for the Monza exhaust system, but other than that I havent added much (starting to wish I had gone for the auto dipping rear view mirror - might have to see if its too late to add that)

My scorpion will be white, with red Abarth cheat lines, white SS wheels and no checker board.

I look forward to the wait!!

Shame you have to wait, I had mines with a week of ordering ;D

I've only had mines for a couple of months, cracking wee cars!

You're right that it's a great forum with loads of helpful info and cracking folks posting on it too.

Arrhh, well the wait is my choice.... I want a 60 plate, as I have a cunning plan for the reg plate,, (xx60LDE)

Ajay had a car that I could have more or less driven away in (once he had done the SS upgrade)

I am sure it will be all the better for the wait

Oooh, that's cheeky Scud! Monza is a great choice though...nice sounding spec.. Enjoy (and choosing the wait?!? OMG, I had to wait and it nearly drove me over the edge  :P).  ;D

bet u carnt wait i chopped in an audi tt for tigger somthink to do with the grin factor i couldnt stop smiling on my test drive and you also feel you are driving somthing special welcome

Old Ajay did me like a kipper (in the nicest possible terms) with the Monza exhaust.

I drove a straight Abarth, then asked to come back and try the SS one... which he then told me was slightly different, as it had the same exhaust system as the Ferrari tribute 500.

I was going to go for a glass roof,,,, but decided that the money might be better spent towards the Monza.

I have ordered and waited for a few new cars in my time, and the only one which came close to getting me this 'itchy' was a BMW 3 - which to be honest is a car I still miss now. The Abarth has certainly caught me in its grip

Sounds a nice spec.   :thumb:
I wouldn't worry too much about the auto dimming rear view mirror.  Sure it's nice to have but the tinted rear window helps greatly with any glare anyway.  I've got tints in my other car which has the auto mirror, and never seen the mirror dim which I can only guess must be down to the tint  (used to see the mirror dim easily on a 3-series I had with no tints).

Anyway, enough waffle... I don't envy your wait.  There's something about the character of these cars, even if they aren't great handling or the quickest thing around, they are just plain fun !!

Hi again,

I saw your feedback on the auto dipping mirror about 2 mins after I put the phone down to Ajay adding it onto the order..... Never mind.

My last 3 or 4 cars have all had it in one format or another.. So I think I would miss it now.

A dumb question (probably) but do the cars deliver with no floor mats at all?

No floor mats as standard however I was given mine by the dealer as i suspect they think it is as rubbish that they come without as I do!

Welcome Paul and congrats on ordering! I have the auto dip mirror and although ive never driven one without it, im happy to have it there  :thumb: I got free floor mats thrown in when i bought mine  ;D

Some dealers seem to throw them in, some don't.

I didnt get floor mats then the same week JamesAGP off the forum did from the same salesman the T***.

Not too bothered Im not a fan of them anyway. esp at £52!!!

I shall hold tight on buying mats for the time being and see what happens on delivery.

I have already bought myself an aluminium tax disc holder (black with a white scorpion on the back) from Ebay... was going to get the mats too, but there really is no mad rush!
