New Abarth 500 owner from Maidstone saying Hi
« on: November 05, 2010, 06:51:21 PM »
Hi guys

I have just purchased a 09 plate Abarth as a stable mate to my BMW M5.

I have been looking for a smaller everyday car as the M5 is how do I put it, "a little juicy around town". I had drawn up a short list of cars but the Abarth was not on it until one pulled up next to me at the lights. It was in white and had a great exhaust note. It really turned my head so fast forward to today when I visited Lipcombs in Maidstone.
A look around the showroom led to a chat with Darren and a test drive. Now my M5 is running around 430bhp so I am used to power but the Abarth absolutely blew me with its all round ability, mid range torque and acceleration. My mind was virtually made up but I had to run it past the other half so an hour later I was back talking to Darren where I settled on a fully loaded 09 plate 500 in Bossa white.

I now have a week to wait and I am already looking at the Esse kit  ;)

I look forward posting on the forum but its gonna be a long week.

Hi Russ

Was looking for an M5 a little while ago to replace my 330 CI M sport. Had my A500 just over a year now and the BM has gone Just wasn't enough fun any more! I had to wait months for my A500, a week will fly by - and it'll be well worth the wait. You'll love it  :thumb:

Russ, I still thrash mine in the rain! Technology has come on in leaps n bounds - they love it.... Just don't drive it the same as you drive the BM's - full power all the time lol  ;) no side ways action , let those 135 screaming horses go wild !

Give it the beans mate!

135 horses - with my TMC box fitted I am hoping for 160  ;D

The M5 is absolutely savage on the straights with 430 bhp to play with and thanks to a full Bilstein PSS9 coilcover kit it goes around the corners quite well but on a twisty road I doubt it would keep up with Italian Louis  ;D
