Hi everyone  :wave:

I've been lurking on here a while, waiting to be approved...so I thought I would finally say hello..and ask for your opinions.. :)
I'm Vikki and from Hertfordshire...and I'm going to be ordering my new a500 in about a month, and wanted to know what extras to go for (amoung other advice no doubt...)

So far, I've decided on BN white, 17" wheels but not sure which ones yet, xenons, leather - probably red but not definite...and unsure about the wealth of other extras I'd like but not sure about..

I'm not going to go for the ss.

Just to give you background... This will be our second car, we have the family big car, which hubbie drives. I drive all day around the county for work and am currently driving a small but perfectly dull company car. So I thought I'd give it back and treat myself  ;D

I'm not a techie and have to admit that I don't have a clue what half of the terminology means that everyone talks about on here...but I am sure I learn!!!!
 So please forgive any stupid questions I may ask...

What I am however, is an admirer of objects of great beauty and I LOVE this car. I can see it being the beginning of a long, beautiful but highly expensive relationship  :thumb:

Would welcome your thoughts - and also advice on dealers.

We don't mind where we go in the country for it.We went to Glyn Hopkin initially as it was our nearest (still nearly an hour away) - but to order etc we don't mind where - we are more interested in a good service (and deal!).

Hello and welcome  :whistle:

Spec is a personal thing, i have xenon's and leather (red) and love them i also have climate control skydome stickers and an alloy gearknob  :) and i wouldnt want a car without them  ;D

Have a look at as many cars/pics as you can and you will soon get an idea of what you like

Also take a listen to a Monza exhaust  8)

Well I went a bit mad and ticked every option (save the glass roof) with Sabelts, monza and added konis.... So it may be I'm not a good person to ask..... ;D

Have a look at the Dealer Feedback section.

To be fair, most appear to be quite good at selling cars but servicing varies so I'm not sure it's going to help you given you'll want to do that close to home.

That said, so far as I'm concerned, I've had great service right from the very start up until now.  :thumb:

I've had red leather for almost a week and love it, its an aqquired taste but if you're not going for the SS it does add a feel of 'quality' to the car. I have Climate and the mirror too and would recommend those also.

I don't have the Xenon's and don't personally miss them but having them on another car they would definately be an improvement especially if you do a lot of back lane driving.

Have a look through the dealer feedback bit, my reviews there.

Welcome.

The only extras I went for were 17" petals, climate and black leather and I'm more than happy with the spec I chose.

Welcome from another Herts owner.  :wave:  I got mine from Thames at Slough which was roughly the same distance for me. Had good service from them so far, although that has only been oil change in nearly two years.

With hindsight I would have gone for the xenons for the country lane driving round here. Everything else is a matter of personal taste and how much.

Enjoy the choosing, then you'll enjoy looking at it almost as much as driving it.

Alloy gear knob is well worth the £50 imo

Best advice is to ask to look over whatever used stock the dealer has at the time and ask to look in a few :thumb:

Hi and welcome  :wave:

Whatever you decide to go for it will be yours. You can make it as expensive as you like as fwdboy suggested have look in the cars on the courtyard. If you going to be driving mainly on B roads I would suggest xenons and konis. :thumb:

Thanks for the welcome and feedback.
I fully expect hubbie to drive it more than me...
I have been having a look at lots of the photos on here (excellent advice thanks), it's really helping me decide what I want exactly

We are also keen to come to some of the meets, so when we finally get the car - we'll see you there   ;D

at nearly 16 1/2 k i just went for the red leather and 17 petal wheels, the 16 1/2 grand does include permashine and my gap insurance, i couldn't justify spending any more .
i might get the gear knob cos the leather isn't at all comfy.

I am sorry but there is only one add-on needed for any A500.....

MONZA!

And then a long tunnel & heavy right foot which is free apart from the fuel bit but going to petrol stations lets you drive it more and makes you smile so who cares.

On a white A500 my choice would be grey petals, sunroof and climate control.
