I think the cars in question (disappearing fron view in my rear view mirror) were a Nissan Micra 1.0 and an old Fiesta 950! Boy racer or what! ;)

I can better that. Fiesta Zetec S.........  :neener: Won't say what speeds I have had but I had better watch out  :lala: :lala:

Sorted! Switch replaced and we agreed that the stone chip should be left as is and I acknowledged no touch up involved but maybe some cover up but we were never going to agree on this point. Anyway, a much better experience today with a nice friendly manner from everyone involved including the young fella who sold us the car. Perhaps he had other things on his mind on Saturday or maybe just busy who knows. A nice cuppa, some biscuits and a read of the newspaper for about an hour and away I go. Really loved the drive home and checked the mpg 41.2! How did that happen? I drove exactly the same route as I took home last week only there and back this time but on Saturday the mpg showed as 23.5! Mind you the car had 18 miles on the clock and those 18 were included in my total of 43 as at Saturday evening. Perhaps someone before me has been a little heavier with the right foot or maybe just short stop start journeys......Anyway, my pleasure at the mpg rapidly faded to me questioning my driving style. Am I driving like a big wuss then?
Just checked my invoice and it shows 5 miles but the car had 18 when I picked it up!
Really started to get a feel for the car on the way home especially on a couple of twisty A roads close to home. Love it, absolutely love it! ;D

Thanks for all the great comments guys. I am really pleased with the car and it is good to have a working relationship with your dealer and after all there are only 10 of them! In retrospect they were only minor issues but this is the first new car we have bought in 8 years and last time I guess we were lucky with no issues. When you buy used you have a different tolerance threshold I think. The main thing now is get comfortable, strap myself in and drive! So looking forward to this weekend! Thanks again guys and pics to follow. :)

Welcome to the "Red club".

We had a minor paint fault on the passenger door.  It was sorted out for us by our nearest Abarth dealership even though we didn't buy it from there!

Enjoy driving!
