Same colour as ours but we have white stripes and white mirrors The gearbox does take some getting use to but once mastered it is great fun and relaxing in traffic jams as you can put it into auto Thumb Up
I agree the gear box is fine once you get used to it and as you say very nice in traffic. I like yours with the white stripes did consider them but went for the red ones instead. Have you noticed that if you turn the engine off and then go back to turn it on it stays in sport mode unlike the hard top when you have to keep pressing the sport button? Imo a small change but one for the better Thumb Up

Stupid question as Ive not had much time to look into the new boxes...Are they "Semi Auto" i.e. have an electronic clutch and box (ala Electronic Gearbox System or EGS) or are they pure auto - tourque convertors etc?

The blurb says automated clutch:

The innovative MTA-derived (Manual Transmission Automated) system is based on a conventional mechanical gearbox on which the traditional gear lever has been replaced with an actuator electronically controlled by the TCU (Transmission Control Unit) to optimise gear changes and mechanical efficiency. The gearbox can be used in two modes: auto for maximum comfort, and manual for maximum performance. "Sport" mode can be engaged in both gearbox modes and reduces gear shift times.

Cheers

If its as good as some of the ones I've used in the past it will be fun...once you've got used to it, and its got used to you.  The ones I've tried have had a bit of a running in period where it learns your driving style.

No ss kit for the c is not out till end of the year. Was having the monza fitted , rang to tell my insurance co and was asked if the monza increased the bhp. i said it was about a 5 bhp increase and they would not insure the car! but they  would insure if it was the ss kit! they argue that the monza is a performance upgrade but what is the  ss kit! gave up arguing cancelled the monza at the last moment but will change insurers when renewal is due in jan and will monza then. what insurance co are you with? anyone else had any trouble with insurers re the monza?

Why not try Chris Knott Insurance a ring on 0800 917 2274 ?

I've been with them for a number of years and was introduced to them through another motoring forum.  They are a broker and dont have a wizzy website so the only downside  is that you have to talk to someone (heavensforbid!)however when insuring the VTS they were always very good.

covers modifications with cosmetic changes and modded bhp increases of no more than 20bhp and applies to members aged 19 and over for Third Party, Fire & Theft cover and 22 and over for Comprehensive cover. Also people must have at least 1 year NCB and no introductory discounts are allowed, no more than 1 SP/PC/PL conviction offence per driver and minimum premiums are £250 for Comprehensive & £200 for TPFT cover.

They reduced my renewal quote by over £150, reducing my excess to £0 and increased the level of cover inc windscreen stereo contents etc.

Might be worth a call to see what they say.

The only DOWNSIDE is that they dont cover the following postcodes

all M - Manchester, L - Liverpool, OL - Oldham & SK1-12 - Stockport postcodes and Northern Ireland

No connection btw.
