first proper road trip
« on: February 25, 2011, 11:51:14 AM »
Well guido is taking me and my other half on our first road trip which we have dubbed the mini miglia. Popping over the pennines to see relatives on the east coast. Home town of Hull then to Bridlington, onto Scarborough for a couple of laps of olivers mount (one of the UK's only public road circuits). We will then go on to robin hoods bay and stay nearby before a drive through rosedale forest before driving back to manc.
Will take pics

Actually, check out our trip for a good route which includes farm yards and Lloyd's favourite fish and chip shop in scarborough. It's in the meets and events section. 10+ very dirty Abarths by the end of it but a great laugh.  :thumb:

Will have to put pics up and more details but road trip was great.
695 luggage was packed and the route planned. Good mix of driving from motorway (it could really use an extra gear), fast a roads and twist b roads. Olivers mount was brill and I did four laps at a spirited pda e whilst my other half took some video which I will post on YouTube.

I have to say that the state of the roads were truly "write to your MPH" terrible and the 695 suspension was clearly out of its depth on more than a few occasions. It's hard to criticise abarth  because travelling to Italy a lot I know their roads are like most of Europe now streets ahead of ours but by the end of the trip I longed for some smooth non-pot holed roads and softer damping.

The monza just keeps getting better and by accident I found out that if you park up then re-start the car set off immediately at full throttle in first to the redline then coast it seems to be in some EXTRA LOUD mode.
