It's Jack!
« on: December 15, 2011, 01:51:51 PM »
I've now had Jack for 2 months or so now, and the ideas about what I want to do to him are starting to become clearer in my own head (although I'm never truely sure about what I want till I've done it ;) )

So far, he's been treated to a TMC box, BMC air filter and dump valve filter thingy, and some nice red wing mirror covers :)

4 or 5 weeks ago I also treated him to some Eibach lowering springs from TMC, which were a decent improvement over standard. However, last week I managed to buy a Gaz adjustable kit from retro on here, which I fitted yesterday....now they are a huge improvement! Yes, they do chirp quite a bit from the back, but thats a small price to pay. As it stands, I'm still playing around with the settings, but what I do know is either the front is too low, or the back is too high. Not sure if I should refit the rear Eibach springs or just raise the front a bit, so any imput would be great :thumb:

Absolutely beautiful, just spot on! :thumb:

I personally would refit the rear springs and see where that stands..  You might need the raise the front a tad to match?

Hey quick work! Maybe swap the rear springs at the back and see if you prefer them? I probably had it a fraction higher at the front but looks racy.  :thumb:

Cheers guys ;D

I think it does need a little lowering on the back and raising slightly at the front....I shall sort that this weekend :thumb:

As for the overall look, I like a clean style, so it's not likely to change much...certainly no stickers or anything of the sort. More likely to start removing the badges

As for the next steps, I've arranged to have the Novitec exhaust from Potter77's car when it goes back to TMC, and I've reserved one of the colour coded induction kits too, so they should both be on early next year. I'll be arranging to have my cherished number plate put on next week (any guesses what it is??   ), and I've bought a spare dash to have a go at carbon wrapping it....that could easily end in disaster  :P

After that, well, who knows! ;D

Car looks great, always nice to see them without stripes. Personally Id go for White mirrors as you havent got the Red stripes to tie into.

Sits nice, tad high at the back but some people like that look anyway at least it isnt as bad as mine on standard shocks springs with 16s lol must really do something about mine...

Great looking car

I've put the eibachs back on the rear today, so its sitting about 10-15mm lower now....still not sure if its enough but I'll give it a few days to settle then maybe raise the front a little.

Well, it's definately an improvement with the Eibachs on the rear, but the front will have to come up a little. However, the front end is very 'crashy' and after doing a little reading on the Gaz kits I'm assuming I have the 8" front springs (they are 250lb), so going to look at getting them changed for 9" springs before we do any more tweaking to the ride height :thumb:

White TMC/GTTuning induction kit looks great, would look great with turbo shield and battery cover in White :thumb:

It does look sweet, and I love it! Never been one for 'blinging' up under the bonnet, but I think you might be right! :thumb:

Ordered a new set of front springs from Gaz this morning...200lb and 9" as they recommended, and the dampers won't need re-valving :) . Can't complain at £70 delivered, but unfortunately they won't be able to ship them out till the new year now :(

DVLA have reprieved themselves slightly....documents have come through for the number plate transfer, so they will be fitted upon first light......much more fun than opening boring Christmas presents  :thumb:
