nice job there bud.over the last year my cleaning collection has got bigger and more obssesive lmfao. i found that claying, srp and hd wax made the car just look mega fantastic.i was really impressed with the results.

HD Wax has got some really good write-ups with the guys on Detailing World but I'm yet to try it. Next stage is dig the machine polisher out and get rid of the light swirls and marks with some SFX2, put a shine on it with some SFX3 and seal it with SFX4 using all the relevant pads. After that, some R222 wax should top it all off nicely! Are you on Detailing World?

Good effort. Got a few detailing products but never seen the 303 aerospace stuff. Whats the timescale for protection? And do you just spray and leave?
Sounds like my kind of stuff  :thumb:

Lasts a good while, not sure exactly as I've only just started using it on my cars about a month ago but it's still holding up well! Simply spray it on and leave to dry. With the arches, it just causes water to bead up and run off which is perfect. There's nothing more disappointing than a reasonably clean car and grey wheel arches! It just lets it down.

I like cleaning mine, but I don't really see the point of doing things like inside the wheels arches as they just get filthy again the next time you're out, especially on wet roads.  I can understand it for people with classics who are showing cars at concours events, but for cars that are used everyday I'm happy just to have it looking 'fairly clean' most of the time.
I wipe mine down every night and towel it off before it goes in the garage, and every now and again it will get some polish on it and more intense cleaning.  It takes too much work to keep it spotless all the time!
Very good work though.  Requires a lot of patience and dedication.  Don't you get frustrated when it's dirty again after 5 minutes of driving, having spent all day on it?

I don't use the car everyday, just every now and again when I fancy a quick blast. Day to day commuting and chores are done in my Fiesta which you can see in one of the pics. I enjoy doing all this, it's very therapeutic and relieves a lot of stress. The idea of the Abarth for me is to keep it immaculate and low mileage and just something to use for a bit of fun in the summer. It'll probably never be driven in the rain actually.

so it looks like that you will not be driving it much, then  :D

Astounding !!!!  I do know an Alfa OCD, but this is quite impressive as well  !!!

I will be keeping an eye on this thread - and will be asking for advice probably

BTW Why the Campovolo - I would imagine for a OCD that the black or the red would have been a more likely choice.   Reason being that the grey is quite flat (that it why I like it - more in keeping with the classic Abarth era) and may not respond as well to polishing as those other colours

So Loving Ruby

Cheers buddy. I went for grey as white is too common. As for red, it is a gorgeous colour but my dad's car is red! Black comes up well with a lot of attention but I don't think it does the Abarth justice. Grey was perfect for me, I love the colour and it has the historic links to the classic Abarth racing era like you said. It can come up looking fantastic once you've spent a few days on it and so far, everyone has approved of it. I like to know that when I'm driving my car, it's protected from the elements such as road salts and grime, hence all the work on the wheels and arches.

Hi there! Your car looks great! It's exactly what I want my car to be! Ha ha! I'm really trying to get into detailing but I'm struggling to find the best stuff to use, where do you order all of your products and what stuff do you recommend? I use alot of meguairs stuff but I'm sure that's not the most professional stuff. I'd really like to set myself up with a proper kit to use? What is the show foam you use? I've seen this on alot of detailers websites do you need a jetwash to use it? I have to be honest I don't like pressure washers they do seem very agressive..  Also Ive just ordered an esseesse kit for mine and I have gone for the White wheels are there any products you would recommend to seal the wheels while they are new to make them easier to keep in new condition??

Many thanks mate
Carl

hi there buddy. nothing wrong with meguires at all same goes with auto glym. there is alot of products and brands out there but its a matter of trial and error.some will find some products better than others.

also have a look on detailing world.it can be abit addictive but it does point you in agood direction.

also i aint keen on the snow foam via pressure washer either as it is agresiv and can proberbly rip my stickers off. so im going to get a cheaper and less powerful "super sprayer".this is a bottle that mixes snow foam in a bottle and attaches to a normal hose.the foam isnt suposed to be as foamy as you get from a pressure washer but iv heard its a very good little tool to get most the dirt off a car before you wash it.and its only £9. you can get that from cleanyourcar.com check it out.im going to get 1 myself too at some point. i aint an expert but i know some basics so if you need any advice drop me a message and il try and help.

As Salvos said, cleayourcar.co.uk is the best place to buy stuff from and most of the pros use Meg's stuff. I get all my kit from there but I normally drive over as it's quite local to me. I use a pressure washer with my snowfoam but just keep my distance with it. You can also mix it with some APC (All Purpose Cleaner) or normal shampoo.
With regards to the wheels, make sure you seal them using some Poorboys Wheel Sealant or, if you're feeling rich, some Swissvax Autobahn. Ask the guys at the dealership if you can get access to the wheels before the kit is put on and put about 3-4 coats of sealant on them. That way, they are protected as soon as you drive off and stops you messing around jacking the car up and removing the wheels like I've done. It makes them a hell of a lot easier to clean as brake dust and road grime just falls off as you wash them!

The car looks terrific David....

Thanks Steve. Big thank you to you for making it possible.

Thanks alot for your help guys! I had already planned to try and get my hands on the wheels first.. I had bought some autoglym wheel sealant which was the best stuff they had in Halfords at the time.. I'll check that store out tho! Has anyone used the autoglyn stuff before?? Or is it worth me taking it back and getting the different stuff?? How long does this stuff take to dry off??
