I have a standard jack that wont fit under at the front of the car, because the jack 'cup' would hit the bumper, but it can fit in at the back between bumper and rear wheel, and then you can slide it along the ground to the front jacking point, and jack it up like normal, because the actual jack arm is low enough to fit under easily on flat ground, thats if you dont have any wood lying around anyway, or you're too lazy to drive it onto some

That's what I do  :thumb:

Makes sense and saves buying a seperate fancy jack

Just be sure you don't catch the arm when running it along the sill as you don't want to scratch it.

The arm clears the bumper by a good 4cm or so, so as long as you dont throw it down it should be fine :P

Hi David. Yes, got some of the magic stuff :) I was planning on doing under the arches when I put the winter wheels on...but still waiting for it to get cold enough! Reckon I will be sorting it out within the next couple of weeks. Got one of the Halfords jacks and will do use some wood to raise the car as recommended...no hassle given that the jack is such a steal for less than £30.

It sure is. Don't get me wrong, you wouldn't use it in a service centre/garage but for periodic use it's perfect. I have been trying to get some hours in on the aircraft so we can go for our jaunt to Oulton but the weather has been less than favourable. Don't want to be flying the Ikarus is 45 knot winds!
