My white and red APE
« on: January 08, 2012, 06:56:56 PM »
After my earlier post about where to take photos in Essex and some suggestions of trying industrial/business areas, I set out looking for some suitable places having first given the car a wash. It was caked in Cornish country road dirt from Christmas visiting people so didn't get time for a decent wax before the light was starting to go.

I thought some dark roller shutters would look good but not much luck, so this grey one would have to do! Best was the tarmac had no horrible oil spills or puddles to distract on the photo.

Then I thought I'd try out some off-camera flash which I'm slowly getting to grips with. Didn't have long to play due to fading light, I need to try different flash positions, power, a taller flash stand etc.

Great looking pic's and Great looking car :thumb:

Keep up the good work, keep an eye out for any location that takes your fancy and keep snapping. Be good to seeing both you and the car at one of the SE meets

Thanks for the comments all, was reasonably pleased with how they came out.

Used a decent canon flashgun and a cheapo old Sunpak one from ebay and £20 wireless triggers from ebay, in case anyone was interested.

FWD_boy, I was tempted with the Lakeside meet but I'm going to Autosport v.early on Saturday so I think it'd be finishing up past my bedtime!

Be keen to see your setup, as Im looking to move away from a 'holiday' digital camera to a slightly better DSLR :D
