Nearly but not quite! It's at the dealer's (Glyn Hopkins), it's looking beautiful (so says Claire). But I'm not collecting it until 9 am Friday 3rd July. Just too busy selling and clearing my Dad's house at the moment It's booked in at Paintshield that day so I drive straight from collecting it to Peterborough. I CAN'T FRIGGIN' WAIT!

Don't forget to be careful about getting the front chipped on your way up to PaintShield!

With no protection, I've got about 4 tiny chips after nearly 4000 miles. I was expecting more damage with such a flat front end on the car, but it's hardly anything. I just need a bit of touch-up paint and a polish and they'll hardly be noticeable. Only one is on the bonnet, the rest are on the plastic.

That's not too bad but mines Funk White so it's a different kettle of fish when it comes to touching up. I think that anyone ordering Funk white needs to think of it as a £1700 option (Funk + Shield). worth it for the extra kudos though

I'm off to Glyn Hopkins this saturday to test drive the standard 500 and the SS. Might see if i can have a nosey at yours if i can (hope ya don't mind!) as i haven't seen the funk white close up yet. Just know i'm gonna come back home with a big stupid on my face! Just gotta hope that i can get a decent trade in on my old car which at the moment seems a little unlikely. Also the small job of persuading she who must be obeyed that the 500 is plenty big enough for a family car Hopefully she will be converted after Saturday!

There was a Funk White in the showroom a week or so ago that had NO stripes. It looked absolutely beautiful. A top tip for you - I had a Bossa Nova White put next to a Funk White and WOW, what a difference! I decided it had to be Funk there and then. Another time I went back, I coincided my visit with a delivery of A500's and there were 13 in various combinations to look at. Didn't see my combo though Make sure you post your thoughts after. Let me know how mine looks. DON'T TOUCH IT THOUGH I'm doing this weird sort of denial thing at the moment where I don't want to go see it before I collect (waiting for funds) You from round my way (Sawbridgeworth / Bishops Stortford)?

I'd offer to take a photo if you want but it sounds like you are waiting for the day you pick it up so as to get the full wow factor, which i can fully understand. Although i must say you have a huge amount of will power not to go down yourself and have a look! I will let you know how it goes tomorrow and i promise i won't touch your p&j (but i can't vouch for my kids....pair of vandals they are ) What did you think of the dealer; were they what you expected or better/worse? By the way i live near Southend and i have yet to see one on the road. How about you? Love the exclusivity of the Abarth (at the moment at least)

Went to Glyn Hopkins today. The Funk White does look good i must admit. They had one in the showroom without stripes but i think your one looks better with I took a couple of pics if you want to see them let me know. Test drove the SS and caught that infectious that everyone seems to get when they are behind the wheel. Can't believe how quick they feel. Didn't really get a proper drive as the traffic was murder but i am seriously impressed; good quality feel for the money. Only trouble is the wife wasn't so keen Couldn't seem to get comfortable behind the wheel and, with her sensible hat on, managed to pick holes in its complete lack of practicality However she does get why i love it sooooo much and could still be persuaded Only trouble is we weren't offered anywhere near enough for our old car as part ex which has put a complete dampener on the whole thing. Will have to keep on dreaming i suppose but one day, who knows!

You saw mine did you? Please no photos here - they're for me to post later. Where was it? was told it would be in the undergound parking area. Please let me know. I hope you can persuade your good lady - best of luck with that! I struggled to get a feel for the car when I went on my test drives, it was only on the third (I think) that I finally got to open it up a little. The traffic around there's so heavy. I presume you found Claire good and keen - she's been a sweetie through my purchase. So. Here's to you persuading your other half, you never know you might be going up and down the seafront at Southend getting some pretty damn admiring looks. Cheers

No problems...didn't want to steal you thunder! If it was your one then it was in the (dare i say it...Fiat) car park outside. May have been put there temporarily tho as it was pretty packed out. Very jealous!
Claire was very accommodating and i can imagine buying from them would be a breeze. Just a shame that they couldn't even come close to what Vospers had offered me for my car(which at the time i thought wasn't great but in retrospect seems ok in comparison).
Once the budget comes in line a little i will try my (pretty useless) persuasive charms on the missis...even beginning to think about the GP although it lacks the funkiness of the 500.
Good luck with your car anyway, no doubt see the pics here soon.
