After 5 weeks off from driving because of my dislocated shoulder, fractured collar bone and torn ligaments, I'm back!!

It's quite interesting taking a major aspect of modern life away for a period but it certainly had it's plus points.
PlussesThe train to work was on time every day (about 25 miles on the cambridge to Liverpool St line)
Very relaxing (read a book / paper / ipod on the way home / back.
Got more exercise walking to and from the station + to shops / close friends etc.
Saved wear and tear on the car
The Mrs drove whenever we went out
NegativesThe Mrs drove whenever we went out

Lack of freedom to just jump in the motor to go somewhere.
Trips needed planning (are you free on ......)
Had to get to / leave work at certain times (train once an hour)
Boy, the train's expensive (train = £16 to work, Petrol = £6 + wear and tear)
Apparently, if I'd driven earlier against medical advice and had an accident, there could have big problems with insurance so it was best not to.
Looking forward to a spin in the Abarth at the weekend.
