Allegedly wise.... because I'm repelled by MARMITE

Well, here he is, at last!  Grin

We've had an eventful 24 hours.

Firstly, having travelled no more than 100 yds out of the Dealership, two lads in a Clio narrowly managed to skid to a halt behind him at the traffic lights.

Secondly, his first 30 miles were nose to tail traffic in appalling weather so, doubtless, the car was wondering why on earth he'd been landed with me!

Then things got better! He has been drooled over by all manner of people already. He has done a comprehensive tour of my family and local friends; caused a chap in his Golf GTI to stall at traffic lights through staring; and left a few pedestrians open-mouthed at the noise.

Finally, when I woke in the middle of the night, he caused me to get out of bed just to look out the window at him!

As promised, a couple of photos which are:

a) not the best as they are taken with the only camera I can lay my hands on at the moment; and

b) although he is only 24 hours old, will have some of you reaching for the sponge thanks to the weather; the farm track I live down; and the local bird population!

Kev, there is an interior picture is especially for you which I'll post in a minute as I can't seem to attach more than one photo....

One very happy owner   Grin

And just for you Kev...

The full report is that the seats a great. I am soooo pleased with them! The drive home was, objectively, tedious. Had I been in my Honda, I would have been tired; irritable; and uncomfortable after 1 hour 45 mins. Let's face it, I was never going to be tired or irritable with the car, but I was certainly not uncomfortable. Big  Thumb Up from me.

Thanks for the report sjh, and car looks great Thumb Up
We are seriously thinking of upgrading to the sabelts, but it has to suit Bev and myself, so we really need to sit in them to make
our minds up, expensive mistake if they are not right.
Do you think that you sit lower than in the standard car, as i have an issue with this anyway, to high.
We will probably wait untill cadwell, if you are going, and both sit in your car, if allowed, i will bring the fumigator Grin.

Enjoy the car. Thumb Up

Kev

Thank you - he's lovely.   Grin

We will be at Cadwell, but probably the saturday (rather than the sunday) given the provisional timetable.

As to the seats - I think you probably do sit a little lower but, this is a strange one. I test drove a demonstrator with the monza exhaust last thursday. That had the sabelt seats too but the set up felt different to the first demonstrator and, indeed, my own car. They aren't adjustable in terms of height. Whether there is a different set up for tall and short people, I don't know but all I do know is that my car seems easier for me in terms of reaching the pedals for a start and ability to see the speedo beyond 30 mph. I'll have to ask. This could well be important in a car that is driven by more than one person frequently (which mine won't be  Wink). My view, having now seen the cloth version, is that the leather looks far better and is definitely worth the extra money. You'll both be more than welcome to try them out!  Still grinning  and looking out of the window lots Grin

I dimly recall mine looking so shiny.  Makes me want to dig out the SS wheels - that titanium looks as good as I could hope.

The seats would take more justification than I could muster, but look cool.  Not a fan of the shiny knob.

The chuffedness won't wear off.

Not quite sure how to put this - shiny knob more about "feel" than "looks"!

I like the shiny knob  Smiley My standard knob is already showing signs of wear and tear.
