Vicki Butler Henderson Signs Up for Trofeo Abarth 500 GB
Organisers of the Trofeo Abarth 500 GB are pleased to announce that Motoring Journalist, and well known television personality Vicki Butler Henderson will drive in the 2010 series.
Vicki will be driving an Abarth 500 Asetto Corse backed by Romford Abarth dealer Glyn Hopkin. The team will be run by Advent Motorsport.
"I am thrilled to be driving the Glyn Hopkin Trofeo car in what will be a hotly-contested racing series. The cars look great and I can't wait to have some fun and hopefully a win," said Vicki.
Series organiser Paolo Callea is excited to have such a high profile personality join the championship.
"Vicki drove the car recently at RaceCar Live and she obviously likes the way it performs," said Paolo. "Since announcing our 2010 calendar and prize fund, we have had an increase in interest from teams and drivers who want to get involved with the event and this news shows that the lure of the Abarth scorpion is strong," he added.
The Trofeo Abarth 500 GB is being supported by Abarth UK and the dealer network. Several teams will be partnerships between dealers, drivers and professional motorsport teams. Romford Abarth Dealer Glyn Hopkin have been involved with ther series early and are making the most of the opportunities presented.
"We are delighted to have secured such a high profile driver as Vicki," said Chairman Mr Glyn Hopkin. "We will be working with her to ensure our car is competitive and to further promote the Brand and the series. We are very excited by the opportunity we now have."
The participation of Vicki Butler-Henderson will also have positive media impact for the series. Auto Italia, the leading magazine for owners and admirers of Italian cars is to report on the 2010 Trofeo Abarth 500 GB.
"We are delighted that Abarth will be running the Trofeo Abarth 500 GB next year and that we have been chosen as a media partner," says Editor Phil Ward. "Vicki Butler-Henderson has recently joined our editorial team and will be writing up the races for us throughout the season." Phil continues, "Vicki has just completed a major feature for us that includes a track test of the Abarth 500 Asetto Corse and a selection of classic Abarths that will be published in the New Year."
The next big event for the series will be the International Autosport show at the NEC in January. The Glyn Hopkin backed Abarth 500 Asetto Corse will displayed on the Auto Italia stand at the show. Organisers are finalising plans to make the most of the momentum that the championship has generated in recent months, however teams and drivers considering entering the Trofeo should not wait until the Autosport Show to enter the series.
"There is a lot of activity going on," said Paolo Callea. "The Championship Brochure has been released and drivers can see that we are working hard to leverage all the awareness that we've created. The teams that come on board early will benefit," he concluded.

I can, the series has finished almost a year ago and it was her brother in the end that drove most of the season. Thus the story has no more relevance for any more comments.
