Yes indeed. Karting Nord i've got 3 pitches and done a deal to get them (expensive is not a word i like) so Euro 79 each is the price plus the GA Tickets. Euro Tunnel is actually cheaper than it was in 2008!!! How much to go to the British GP for a 1.5 hour race plus some supporting races more than we pay to do Le Mans.
We do high quality Play Stations, Scalextric etc and we might have to have Satellite this year for the world cup although you get more of an atmosphere up in the village with all the other nationals we had a great time in 2006. Mansell will be racing and we have the Astons and lets see if Audi can return to 1st place the French had their turn last year. I havn't checkedthe regulations to see if finally the Maser will finally be allowed to race by the French.
I have got space if you are interested.

Thanks, but I dont think I can afford it to be honest, I want to see how much Abarth ownership is going to really cost me this year. I dont want to get caught out on anything, Many thanks for the offer though. I have been once, stayed at Maison Blanche, had a great time and would love to do it again sometime

I've been to Le Mans on a number of occasions but got fed up when they started to allow diesels.
I would recommend the Le Mans Classic, on every 2 years (this year) The cars run for 24 hours but the cars over the different years are split into 'classes'. Sop at first you get the early stuff, and over an 8 hour period see everything that raced ar Le Mans up to, I think, the early 80's.
They then do another session at night, and then another early Sunday morning until the 24 hours are up.
Expensive yes, but it is the strong Euro.

Used to get to Le Mans until the nipper arrived. One of the best weekends of the year but has got a bit chavvier the past few years. Always stayed on Houx Annexe but not the same now the building work has begun.
Have fun, definitely going to try the Classic soon.

Yes watching the racing seemed not to be the main reason for going. Classic is getting really popular, with growing attendance every time. Hope they don't spoil it. Martin

I think that the Diesels have added to the event and to Sports Car racing as a whole. I can remember standing at the end of the Porsche Curves in 2006 and seeing for the first time the R10 come past just a whoosh (super stealth like) and see it put down that unbelievable 1,100 NM (811 ft lb) of torque it is stunning as are the Pugs. It spices LMP 1 up with the petrol and diesels in 2009 the Lola Aston B09/60 came 4th and the Oreca AIM YS came 5th beating the Judd powered cars and the Minassian 908 and the Kolles R10 that is exciting racing.
The 2008 race was excellent with the first European use of the Porsche RS Spyder in LMP2 and Aston Martin beating the Corvettes in GT1 that’s when its great to be a British fan and of course in LMP1 Alan McNish in the winning Audi. GT2 was dominated by Ferrari with the 997’s retiring badly as they did in 2009.
In 2008 we also had the support race which was truly fantastic the Group C cars it was 20 years prior that the Lammers,Dumfries,Wallace Jaguar XJR-9LM had won (I know that 1990 was the last Jag win with Brundle,,Cobb,Nielsen in the XJR12) seeing the Porsche 962’s, Sauber Mercedes etc was a real treat which is why the Le Mans Classic is great. In 10 years time you’ll have the R10’s and 908’s so much as people might think that diesel is not the way look at how many of the vehicles on our roads are diesel.
Travelling down the motorway in France with loads of other UK plated cars is almost surreal at times and to see some of the rare cars is entertaining in its own right. The cosmopolitan feel to the event the Crazy Danes and the Dutch as well as the French and Germans. Mad Friday with the Aston Owners Club parked up with their picnic tables on the side of the Mulsanne etc etc. Not having all the stress of work. Good food, good company and great cars.
We certainly go for the racing but the whole atmosphere it is something quite unique and is not really describable but if you enjoy things automotive this is one of those things that you should do before you die. With any event you get people who are being entertained who have not got a clue what they are watching as well as the chavvie types but most people are their for the event and appreciate what is going on.
If you go down to Mulsanne or to Arnage Indianpolis at 3am and see the LMP1 cars coming in the pitch dark at 200mph and braking the discs glowing it is a sight you will never forget this is an 8+ mile circuit don’t forget and the levels of concentration that the drivers need in the dark is substantial when you consider the speeds and the stresses put on the cars. To sit in the Grandstand at night practice (because it is free) and the sound (because of the shape of the grandstand roof) of the cars below and the action in the pits gives you a buzz.
It looks as though Mansell who went to Le Mans for the very first time last year and was so impressed by it he looks like he has got himself a drive if the Beechdean Mansell Motorsport Ginetta Zytek GZ09S is selected by the ACO.

Well the entry list has been published by the ACO and the former F1 World Champion Nigel Mansell will be racing in LMP1 with his sons in the Beechdean Mansell Motorsport Ginetta-Zytek Z09R so more British interest.
The other British interest is the Jaguar XKR in GT2
We also will see for the first time the Ford GT's in GT1 they have been in ALMS for a number of years but not at the 24Hour race.
GT2 see's another first BMW Motorsport have entered 2 BMW E92 M3's to go up against the Ferrari F430's and Porsche 997's

If you enjoyed seeing how excellent Benny Simonsen was in the Pulce Vospers A500 at Oulton Park then don't forget that his brother Allan Simonsen will be in the Hankook Team Farnbacher Ferrari F430 GT2 at this years 24 Heures du Mans THE GREATEST MOTOR RACE.
Other great Danish drivers at this years race Tom Kristensen LMP1 Audi R15 TDi Plus, Christoffer Nygaard in the AM DBR9 in GT1 and also in GT2 will be Jan Magnussen in the Corvette C6.R.

Tom Kristensen is the man! He most certainley is 8 times winner at LeMans plus 2 3rd places he is a true great like Ickx, Bell and the Bently boys. His co drivers are pretty special also Allan McNish and Rinaldo Capello. His brother runs a tour company that bring all the Danish fans to Le Mans and boy do they know how to party 40ft trailers with awnings as beer tents and another 40ft trailer for the beer. Things at Le Mans can be very sureal at times and seeing a load of Danes racing around the camp sight wearing their tents is one of them!!!!!

I still have some availability if you are interested.
One of my regrets was not having started going in the late 80's early 90's when the Porsches & Jaguars were in battle. If you want to see the great man Kristensen in action then this is one of those rare opportunities and he could be enhancing his CV even further this year.
It will also very interesting to see how Mansell gets on his CV is pretty impresive also World F1 Champion and CART champion.
The sound and atmosphere of this event is something which TV just does not give and the beer is very cheap at Carrefour.
