Saw the same advert, if its anything like parking sensors it will work intermittantly anyway and cause more collisions for anyone that relies on it. The same with this lane departure warning - if you're going to drift between lanes you shouldnt be driving! And cars that park themselves............WHY!!!!

Barf.  Barf, barf, barf. There's no blind spot if you have eyes.  Eyes on the road and eyes in the rear view mirror. And no lazy driving. We don't need all those flipping gimmicks.  We need drivers.  Kotz = barf.

Barf-O-Mat big time.  I am with SJH.  Non de-skilling. Guys and gals, get a grip on your cars and your driving and nobody would ever need "erm what's it called" a "blind spot monitoring sytem". Useless gimmick to make people who are not safe feel safe.  Let's appeal to all the t@nkers out there.  And circumvent the profanitny filter.  Bah.

I actually use a two fold "blind spot system"

1 its called a quick visual check round the perimeters of my truck before I move

2 its called a constant sweep of my mirrors, all the time I'm driving, and a thorough 1 second check before I indicate to move out, and if you still haven't noticed, then you probably shouldnt be driving

You lot can be so self righteous it would be painful if it wasn't so funny!

We're all driving enthusiasts and therefore defend our ability to drive with a passion but some people just aren't so interested. What if this new device saved someone who was momentarily distracted and stopped them from veering out and killing themselves? What if it stops them pulling out and killing a loved one of yours? Are we still going to call it rubbish?

I never had a problem in my Clio Cup with no ABS, no anti skid trickery, more power and my much younger and more reckless brain controlling it but I don't begrudge those of us that chose other cars with more safety devices on board... Abarths are hardly stripped out race cars are they?
