Train is very cheap for me it's always free and if it is crowded I got a place to go on the train where it's not crowded on there and can be by myself:thumb:

I use the car when I can't use train depending on when I start work or finish work.

But if your from my way be prepared cancellations/delays may start becoming more frequent due to vital staff being made redundant.

I do believe also train is far too expensive aswell, the top managers in the train companies just seem to be full of greed

I'd say the decision depends entirely on the road.  If you can easily fit in a long-way-round drive on the way home, ta-da!  I used to have a 45-50 min drive to work, but I could have fun on the first half by zig-zagging through a load of countryside at almost no time cost.  The will to live would start slipping at the approach of the ring road.

You can read a nice book on the train.  There never seems to be any time for that anymore.

Would this still be the case even if I were to still drive it every couple of days in the evenings? I have noticed that some mornings when it's been bad weather all my brake discs are yellow. however it does disappear by the time I'm at work.


Everyone's given so many good tips on both of them Undecided I do want to train to work so to bring the miles down, but not at the cost of rusting parts Thumb Down

its normal for brake discs to get a thin coating of rust when they have been wet. disappears as soon as you use the brakes Thumb Up

I have opted to take the train. I know my car will not be happy with me at first, but he'll understand it'll be better in the long run Thumb Up

just keep away from the M180 in lincolnshire, this week they did an ambulance driver delivering an organ for transplant, he didn,t have a patient on board so hes got to be taught a lesson Angry

Mainly the A23 out of Brighton. The amount of traffic that has appeared because of the school runs starting again Thumb Down

It sucks doesn't it. That is one thing I definitely don't miss on my commute!

Taking the train isn't that bad actually. Obviously all the annoying passengers don't get on my train Grin
