Help please. I'm in pain!!

Does anyone know any home remedys for dealing with the pain of an ear infection? I'm so tired and about ready to murder someone/thing?!??!?!

Doc gave me some spray but I'm taking parcetomol for the pain which offers about 5 seconds worth of releaf.

Alcohol taken orally usually numbs any pain for me, especially the recurring pain in my neck........Mrs Trooper  ;D

Have you tried a warm water bottle on it  ??? heat can help ease the pain  ;)

It's works crimbo doo tonight and still wondering if excessive alcohol will cure it. Hmmm.

I'd go back to the doctors if you are in that much pain as you might need moe aggressive treatment like oral antibiotics - you've probably got a walk-in centre somewhere near you that is open at the weekend.  Otherwise speak to a pharmacist as you can get stinger over the counter painkillers although they usually knock you out.

Chuck the paracetemols and go for something stronger like Nurofen.

Don't take chances with your ears.   I did and am now profoundly deaf.

Best to get an appointment with your GP as soon as possible but meantime I would try Solpadeine Soluble tablets.   Taste grim but they work better than most over the counter treatments.   Then a nice hot water bottle can sooth the pain too.

Go to your Primary care trust centre (not an A&E, but staffed by doctors working weekends) if you have one around. Don't self-medicate please. You can do yourself some damage

I saw the doctor. He gave me a perception of Otomize.

Think I'll see how I go tomorrow and if still bad I'll go see my gp again. Ta guys.

Ps. Stayed sober at Xmas doo and left early!! :o

Night of free beer and I turned it down in the name of my health.... Am I getting old?

has the GP said what is it? if an infection then why not antibiotics? I would go back to GP and say you can't sleep cos of the pain.

Put a little plug of cotton wool in to keep it warm.  Only at the entrance though, don't push it right in.
