Hi guys,

did anyone play those 2 titles? I work at Milestone and I'm one of the guy that developed this 2 games for Capcom and BlackBean(as game designer!)

I'm courious of hearing your opinions, if you played the games, of course.

I've owned played both SBK08 and MotoGP08 but haven't really enjoyed either. Sorry.

I put a lot of time into MotoGP07. Too much to be honest and got down to the low 200s in the overall rankings (codeandroad). My son (Lister72) got down to the top 100.

I'm probably in the minority who preferred Extreme mode to GP mode and I never used 100% sim.

However I'm a big MotoGP fan and enjoy 125s and 250s, Simoncelli especially, so I looked forward to MotoGP08.

I bought SBK08 when it first came out but found it too much of a sim and also I didn't like the way the bike pivoted from the centre when you tried to make it slide. It looked like there was a hinge in the middle of the bike. The bikes and riders also appear too skinny for my taste.

The 'skinny' bikes and 'hinges' are also in MotoGP08. The circuits seem to be too narrow in MotoGP08 although they look good and I like the choice of weather.

I don't think that I gave either game a fair chance. I don't have that much spare time at the moment and just really want to sit down and have the occasional blast. Grid is the only game that I play nowadays although I did have a 2 hour session on MotoGP07 the other week and beat my PBs on two circuits. There's room for improvement yet!

Apologies if I seem too negative. A bike game is diffcult to spec and particularly hard to get the control system right, especially for the diehard, sim addicts.

I like Grid because it is purely a race game, really fast action and makes no pretence of being a sim. However, that, for many people, is also its main problem.

I gave MotoGP08 to my son. He likes it more than I do but overall prefers MotoGP07. SBK08 was sold.

This was written while I was waiting for a big SQL query to run. If you need any further clarification, I'll answer from home tonight.
