Arrived in Switzerland within 15 mins being here i ended up at the hospital Needing stitches in my little finger, car door shut but cause of a ring i was wearing sliced into finger deeply according to doc, so he stictched up one side and left underneath see if it heals.... 165 swiss francs later i was allowed to leave...

Bloody car doors they are a real nuisance, i would thrash your car with a branch. Look on the bright side Lisa, when people ask you where you got the scar, you will be able to tell them your Abarth door did it. Hope you are ok anyway, was there much blood, did you get any on the car Kev

Schade!
Hoffentlich geht es Dir jetzt mal gut?
In all my years working in Switzerland, I never had to experience their health care system, but I was told by my colleagues that it is very good (mind you, as far as they are concerned, everything Swiss is perfect and anything not Swiss is never as good!).

A few years ago, on a family holiday in Ireland, my mother shut the car door on my grandmother's hand. Naturally we all exhibited an appropriate measure of concern and had her remove her wedding ring in case the finger swelled.
Only later that day did she let us know that it was the first time she'd ever had the ring off in 60 years. The finger never swelled.

They don't like fast noisy cars, Martin I didn't say that I agree with their assertions........ indeed, as a nation they are among the difficult to work with! Although officially they indeed do not like fast cars and motor racing is not allowed in the country, there are lots and lots of car enthusiasts there who take to the roads at the weekends, so you always see all sorts of interesting things when you travel about. In Zurich, the density of Rolls, Aston, Porsche etc is about on a par with London.
