Last night I think I encountered my first senior moment!
ok, during the day had met a couple of Abarthisti, we were supposed to meet Thus for Lunch but with weather being FAB changed it to tuesday, and we spoke of thurs Ace cafe meeting.
Last night I had a late meeting in town which finished at 7:15pm, anyway on my way into London I spotted an Abarth and thought to myself, HA must be on way to Ace cafe, don't know why but then I thought of that I finished at 7:15pm, I could make it after and when I got to my meeting I checked on the sat nav how far I was away. 12 minutes was the answer. Brilliant I thought I will pop in after
So now in my head I am going to Ace. I drive over looking forward to seeing you guys on the forum who have said they were going, as I get towards it I am thinking, its not that busy, it is still winter after all. I drive into Ace and am suddenly trying to see another Abarth, then I am looking at the other cars and thinking these are WEIRD AND OLD, and NOT Italian! The car parking guy comes over, looks at Rory and says " Your too new, will have to park outside!" I just nodded and turned Rory around whilst people stared.
I turned left towards the donut roundabout, STILL hoping to see another Abarth, now muttering to myself " bloody cheek its an Abarth, does it matter how new or old " .... blah blah blah........
I didn't see another abarth, I was annoyed and didn't bother to stop and wait, turned around, and kept on driving back towards the North Circular. As I stopped at the lights I pressed my iphone and the time and date appeared on the home screen and then as if by magic two things happened.
it showed me TUES 8th Feb....... CLICK ....... Oh no its not italian night how
what a wally, can't believe it, it was probably the lunchtime change that threw me, I think back now to when I drove into ACE and all the people staring at my little italian pocket rocket, the guys words of " your too new "... me driving out quite embarrassed...
oh the shame ...
