Personally, I find text speak and bad spelling/grammar far more offensive than swearing. If people can't be bothered to give me the respect of communicating clearly, I can't be bothered to listen.
The only thing I would say in response to that is that there is being lazy and there is being Dyslexic...don’t get the two mixed up.

I for one was never tought the rights and wrongs of good or bad spelling and grammar, so I had to muddle my way through School, College and University into my working career picking it up as I went along. Its easy enough to assume that those that cant string a sentence together are lazy, but sometimes they might not had an opportunity to learn or even know that what they have done is wrong.

I understand completely and would never knowingly 'dis' a dyslexic.

Also, I forgot to ask the powers that be if it were possible to provide a spell/grammar checker?

A right little hornets nest I stirred up here  :thumb:

We're all decided that those at fault are to be banned from the forum and have their heads ripped off  :bat:

Or, perhaps in answer to an offending post, we could just insert a link to this topic. They'd get the message!

Do you also wince at incorrect spelling, grammar and the use of text language on this forum?
 :bat:
In my view this points at laziness and a lack of education and intelligence. :thumbd:
Cue the tirade of replies using said language......

in my view your wrong, you do realise theres (theirs?) certain forms of illness - if thats the right word, and because of that some people do get it wrong... i do, iv never claimed to be the greatest speller in the world and dam my grammer sucks, but i certainly wouldnt put it down to intelligence and lack of education - on my part anyway!

text spk on the other hand can be a little annoying, i dont mind abriviated words here and there but if every words like it then i struggle to even read it!

at end of day, text speak i dont like, but you cant paint everybody with the same brush if they spell words wrong.
The one with the cape!

You will notice in 4311 posts, I've never spelt anything wrong!

I type quite fast, so a lot of the letters get a little jumbled, but i downloaded Google spell check thingy. Every time I'm about to hit post, i hit the spell check button and anything spelt incorrectly gets highlighted in red. It's awesome  :thumb:

So now my secret is out...

As much as possible, use correct spelling and grammar.  Posts consisting entirely of 'txt-speak' will be deleted.

I am closing this thread as it does seem to be causing issues with members, above is the official position from the code of conduct.
