Tbh the most cost effective option is to keep the a500 if the brakes are still a problem change to brembo or ap racing 4pots thats what id do personally.

This is harder than i thought, the A500 ticks a lot of boxes, it's just the reliability/dealer service side of things that i can't cope with

How about waiting till the outcome of your letter to Abarth? Surely the dealers in question will have their wings clipped for the damage caused etc... I'm sure deep down you really want to keep the A500  :thumb:

OMG you have no choice at all then  :thumbd:

After my experience, i would have to buy a new car from a local dealer so the trips back and forth would be a walk rather than a long drive.

My local dealers consist of:

Ford/Suzuki
Renault/Nissan

Bit further, 50 mile round trip is Citroen

Further at 60 mile round trip is VW, Peugeot, Land Rover, Hyundai

I think you're right Andrew. It's just every now and again, i reach boiling point and then boil over. It seems with each issue i have, they get worse and worse as does the service. Ironically I'll probably be pleased when the warranty runs out so i can take it to a local garage!

Yes, but i don't have the time, tools or knowledge to do that. And warranty work really has to be done by the dealer, otherwise if it goes wrong again they won't fix it...

A service is pretty easy apart from a timing belt change  i need to get help there tbh. need a ramp or at least stands to hold the front wheels a fair bit off the ground with the abarth.

DF, dont get rid of your A500, it's a legend on this site, without your input and detailed imagery i and possibly others on here might not have bought into the abarth way/brand and be driving a bland
eurotin car instead.. Get your 126 on the road and use it as much as poss, it'll be fun im sure.
Like the abarth. Which is my point really, i doubt you'd be happy with any othermake of new car.

Ha thanks, i aim to please!  ;D

I'm not going to buy anything or sell anything for that matter in a rush, so no need to worry. If i do sell, it will be as a last resort in deep regret, but sometimes common sense takes over and needs must etc. I'm obviously going to wait until i hear back from Abarth, then get my car fixed (again) then see....

I'm just going to say it very gingerly but maybe you got a bit of a Friday car? I've had a F500 and GPA and none went much wrong (several cosmetic things, which got done on warranty)... Maybe see how it goes and change your A500 for another one? Of course nobody can guarantee that that one will be better

Everyone said at the start i had a Friday afternoon car. Maybe i shouldn't have bought one of the first 200 in the UK...
