What else is parked on your driveway?
« on: November 23, 2008, 09:46:07 PM »
I suspect Trikster will trump us all, but besides an Abarth (or an Abarth-shaped hole ready for when yours arrives), what else is parked on your drive?

Despite having a Cayman S parked next to mine, I still take the GPA every time.

I'll start the ball rolling, and you'll see why...

A 2001 Nissan Micra. I guess the only way is up now eh? Also on the driveway is my dad's 2004 Mercedes M Class, silver with all the toys.

It's quite a strange site, one of the smallest cars made with one of the biggest cars made. 8)

An F430 spider, Maserati GranTurismo, Porsche 3.4 Boxster S (other half's car) and a 430 Scuderia from next weekend. I seem to spend most of my time driving my 500 Lounge at the moment though as it's great fun and the Abarth will replace that

Lets hope addresses can't be hacked on here otherwise the crims would have a field day with some of the nice cars on your drives.  ;D

Mine are:

535d MSport Touring for carrying wheels, spares, towing, baby transport etc
Lotus S1 Exige (K20a supercharged) for fun and frustration.

 :)

I have a Smart Roadster, (which will be replaced by the Abarth 500) and a 1974 Beetle I've just had restored and I am looking at either a MiTo or Fiesta to use for my new job (driving Instructor). My Partner has an MG BGT, a VW T25 Camper Van and a Sport Track 4x4 which we are thinking of replacing for another small hot hatch.

Hey Alex, what do you think of the Cayman.. had a couple of Boxster S's in my time. Was about to commit to an Elise R as a track weapon when someone mentioned the Cayman.. and when having a look around they are falling to similar prices... so am going to give one a blat this week....
'10 Boxster Spyder; '09 123d M Sport... more coming

I bought a Boxster S at the same time as the Cayman, but on the road, I much preferred the Boxster.  The Cayman's front end is too stiff for British roads, in my opinion, so it bounces and skips over bumps and during heavy braking.  The Boxster's more compliant front end does a better job of keeping the wheels in contact with the tarmac.  On the track, however, the Cayman shines.  The steering's more direct, with even greater feedback, and the chassis balance is truly incredible.

The 3.4 didn't really set my world on fire over the 3.2, but the 2.7 feels pretty anaemic in comparison.

My current car is this:

Alfa 147 GTA. It will hopefully be replaced by an Abarth 500 in the spring.

The wife has a sensible family car.
