Sorry to hear you are selling your Abarth Joe.

I think the Clio would good, i guess you would be needing to look at a few that have not been thrashed...

Joe's had a Clio or 2 in the past, wouldn't blame him if he went back to one, good cars  :thumb:

Not definitely selling yet. Just need to weigh up my options. Some good suggestions here, though the Clio 182 Trophy is currently top of the list . I've seen a good one - number 420 of 500 so a 2006 car with 42000 on the clock - looks lovely. No Abarth though  :'(

I could sell a kidney... or two  :-\

Can't bunk with the 'rents any longer. I'm going mad. I'd sell the car without a second's thought but the laughs I've had with you lot make it a difficult proposition...

Don't really want to bugger off from here, but Abarth ownership is pretty crucial!

Whatever I buy, it will wear a scorpion with pride  :)

Beware of thrashed elderly performance cars. They could end up costing you £200 a month in repairs.  :thumbd:

I suspect you wouldn't get thrown off the forum. Once an Abarthisti, always an Abarthisti  :)

I'd say go for the Clio Trophy.... but I reckon you will be hard pushed to find a 'decent' Trophy for £5K... and not have to spend some cash on it.
I was on the verge of buying one at the start of the year, and you were looking at £6K upwards...  Managed to find one locally at £6300, but service history was incomplete, and it had a key missing (£150-£200 to replace).  Also, there was a creaking from the front suspension, which I though may have been the dampers.  The age/mileage was getting to the threshold for a rebuild of the Sachs dampers (much ££££).... so I decided to walk & buy my Megane when the seller wouldn't go below £6K to allow me room to attend to those things.
I suspect most Trophies will now be needing the dampers rebuilt if not already done.

This is going to sound weird Joe, but i had a dream about you last night. You worked in a Georgian house (very nice it was too) selling typewrites, from antiques, to the very new (but you called them "Printers") You had a black Polo shirt on. You drove your bosses car into town which was an American Ford F-150 Pick up monster truck! Your boss had a pet Tiger that kept trying to eat customers (and us)

So yea, you should buy a monster truck, or a tiger...

Sell your bottom, you only look 15 so you'd get a good price
Don't know what the going rate is but I'm sure that by going through the right channels you'd only have to do it once a week.

You never know, you might like it and in 6 months time you'll be posting on here saying "looking to upgrade as I've got loads of wonga (but a sore arse)".

Seriously though, I'd go the Japanese route.

I'd look for a project and get something like a Sunny GTR. need to check the history thouroughly though. I had one and loved it! You can then say you've got a Nissan GTR.

A500 + TMC + BMC + Ferodo DS2500 + Motul RBF600 + KW V1 + OMP & Strut Braces - rear seats = esseesse+, + Change.

Seats & softer suspension would be my first suggestion.

Never thought of that, good idea, i know some places that Joe could show his wares, dont frequent them myself of coarse, someone told me about them, ill dig the hole a bit deeper shall i  ive heard public toilets pay well  ;D

Dont make any hasty decisions about selling, give it a bit of time.  or alternativly its public toilets i am afraid Joe, coiuld be worse i suppose.
