    Interesting stuff euroboy  :thumb:

I had a little merging to keep things tidy.

As a couple of GP owners now have their exhausts I'm sure you can arrange something if you contact them.

Good idea with the merging  :thumb:

I think they are selling the stuff as fast as they can make it.  When I arrived they had no exhausts in stock, but quickly took one off another customers car that didnt need to be ready for a week or so and gave it to me.

You can fit the chip yourself if you wish (they have a big instruction book for doing it, and its all plug and play) but I guess you would lose the advantage of the rolling road to check all was OK.  Any garage monkey worth his salt could do the exhaust.

You should arrange some sort of group buy and then come across in a convoy.  Its well worth the money.

As far as I know the warranty is full pan-European and covers any fault with the engine caused by the chip - as mentioned it is underwritten by Allianz.

Finally got round to listening to the exhaust vids and it's not bad, still think it loses some of the cheek but makes up for it with more depth. But why do they have to make the exits just look so bean can chav, detracts from the looks of the rear to much for my personal taste.

Just a quick question does the chip alter normal mode or not, I know most people think I'm mad for driving round mainly in normal mode but in heavy or stop/start traffic which is my daily grind it makes the car a lot nicer to drive.

Oh well looks like my car may well still be stock by the time it leaves my possession.

Ive not tried it in 'normal' mode - the car has not been in that since it left the dealer forecourt!

The image I suppose is personal preference, but to my eyes it doesnt look bean-can or chavvy.  The diameter of the exit is similar to that of the metal surround on the OE system.

First post so hello all ;D

Thats a really good write up, thanks for taking the time to do it, given me some food for thought there.

Just out of curiosity did they give any indication of what sort of output the non guranteed ecu can give?

I'd forgotten that, I'll have to wait until someone else gets it fitted to find out  ;D Tbh though I'm really not considering any power upgrades as I like what the car offers from stock. I'm a bit simplistic with power I just buy a car with the amount I want from the get go, slowly been losing bhp for the last 3 cars.  :-[

Yeah I said for my personal tastes, I prefer a trim piece rather than a 'bare' sharp edged end, blame all those shonky halfords bolt on cans for that. I still haven't found any nice ends for the 'cuda since it's upgrade to twin system and that's driving me potty :hysteria:

Great post again Euro........Mine was ss'ed from delivery so think its quick enough but want a bit more noise !  How much is the exhaust on its own ?   and back box solo !   I wonder if just fitting the back box gives the same noise !     I personally like the cut off edge as apposed to the rolled edge....more motorsport look....

Be interesting what the dealers makes of the mods if it goes in for warranty work !!!!!

Did they do dump Valves ...would sound really funny on these !

    Cheers.

You can get a dump valve - I have seen one at SpaItalia, but I am not sure who manufactures it (and it suited the car I think!)

I think the back box by itself is around 600euro and the complete system around 1100 - but if you email g-tech they will send you a price list.

My dealer in NL is quite excited to see the upgrades - as far as warranty work goes; anything related to the chip with the engine is covered aftermarket with Allianz, anything not related to the chip by Abarth and the exhaust is suck it and see I guess - although judging by the quality of the work and professionalism of G-tech I would hope they would fix it FOC.

The guys at G-tech seem to be rushed off their feet at the moment, sending items all around the world - I think I heard them say they install/sell around 20 chips per month for the 500 !

They have quite a few different power levels.  On the original turbo you can have 181bhp without guarantee for not much more £££.  However with the exhaust and guaranteed chip I already have 172bhp - which is good enough.

You can also have 200ish, 220 and 260bhp on different turbos and engine internals :)

G-tech too I presume on the AGP?

1100 was only a guesstimate - it doesnt break it down on my invoice.

I seem to remember about 1100 for the full system from their pricelist which I last looked at about 3 months ago.

Anyhoo - seeing as the mild steel Abarth back box is going to be about 1500eur - this seems a steal!

Hats off to you Euroboy for braving the after-market.

I like the idea of the chip with guarantee and would probably fit it myself  Those power curves look nice - was that straight out of the box, with no tweaking?

I'm all for disceet noise when it comes to preserving my license so don't think the exhaust is for me (though it looks fine).

Another few months of standard ownership to seek out all the niggles first though...

    Well done.
