Title: 2010 500 Esseesse Modifications
Post by: Samgils28 on February 19, 2021, 02:32:22 pm
Hi

Late last year I was lucky enough to get my hands on a 500 esseesse which I have been after ever since I passed my test not so long ago - am starting to think about doing some light modifications to the car for this year, nothing major because of insurance but was just going to leave some questions to get an idea on how to move forward, the one thing for myself is whether to modify it or leave it original - as they may be becoming more sought after??

Just wondering some of the best websites to look at for Abarth tailored parts/accessories?

Was just going to start with some seats and wheels (alternate between summer and winter set), seen some sparco R100 seats - if anyone has these - I'd appreciate knowing how you've got on with fitment/ how they feel; and then
if anyone knows good places for wheels - would love a set of turbo fan/aero wheels personally but these are proving hard to find and always the wrong size, typical!

Cheers! :thumb:

Hi, welcome to the forum!
It’s not the busiest of forums but I have found everyone to be helpful here.

In my opinion, the esseesse won’t necessarily hold its value more than a well sorted non esseesse..
reasoning being the only parts that are upgraded, still may not be as good as “normal” Abarth with aftermarket parts. (Don’t take my word for it though as I may be wrong)
Secondly, it’s not a car that many people want to leave standard. Most owners and prospective owners are happy to sacrifice OEM spec for a better performing and more enjoyable car.

As for parts, there is plenty of places to get parts, I’m not sure if I can post their names on here but I have found there to be lots of options for any type of modification if you search correctly.

The seats, I know there are a few guys in the USA on Fiat forums that have used the R100 seats, but cannot find any more info directly. I also have considered changing to these seats, although my concern is most aftermarket seats I have seen appear to have the shoulder hit the B pillar... no good if your tall and drive with the seat far back.

As for wheels, I have also had arguments with myself on styles and colours. Most companies seem to go for a 7.5J wheel (which I don’t want as 7J is more than ample and just adds unnecessary weight)
I have found there’s more 4x98 PCD options from Italian wheel companies, so I would start there.
I have also read that 4x100 wheels can fit with wobble bolts so that could be something to look into!

I may not have answered much but a reply is better than ignorance and I have believe this forum needs more people to get involved more heavily. The information is out there but not necessarily documented for others.

Keep us posted on your findings/decisions and if you do get the Sparco seats, maybe some info would help a lot of others!
