    Certainly looks cheap enough, but as Maccy says find oput some more details first, like has anyone else in europe had this done?

    I had a turbo Beetle remapped by these people and had no problem what's so ever, did over 45k miles in the car.
    The car went like stink, it surprised many when it left them behind.

    As for the A500 the car could easily take it without other mods that come with the SS kit.

    Evolution chips - sounds interesting and the price is certainly more easy to swallow than the £2.5k SS upgrade.

    Much as I love my little A500 I definatley want it to be quicker!!!

    Whats the deal with remapping a brand new car?

    I'd love to have it done, but how do you do it? Does it affect the warrenty?
    Arent the ECU's read only, therefore do you need a new one?
    And can you get remapping software so you can change it yourself?
    Oh and what happens with the sport button? Does this still work?
    So many questions lol

    We have always said that this will not turn into the sort of forum where people jump on everyone and scream "use the search button" but I'm afraid that this has been done to death and is such a can of worms that I would like you to look at the some of the other re-map threads to try and get your answers.

    Hi Chunkey

    Is it possible to change any of the ECU parameters using Examiner?

    E.g. - change steering characteristics in 'Sport' mode so that I could have a combination of 'Normal' steering with 'Sport' throttle response.

    No, I just don't want to compromise my investment or the integrety of the car. As John501 says, we've probably done this to death but anyways....

    In the short term you have the reliability and warranty issues and in the long term you'd have a reduced resale value and lower buyer demand to contend with.

    To illustrate the point, I'm just selling my 100% original Porsche 914 and have had over 165 enquiries and several offers in the last 3 days. The offers I've already turned down are considerably more than other 'upgraded' or 'refurbed' 914s that have been advertised for weeks, even though my car is hardly in show room condition.

    No one wants to pay good money for cars that have been mucked about with for a whole host of reasons.

    If you have only had your car remapped how is a new owner going to know unless you tell them?  Never been an issue with me  in the passed, if the car is in immaculate condition and has a FSH should not be a problem.
