I'm looking to research fitting a GT1446 turbo to my 2009 500. I'm after around 200hp.

Am I correct thinking it's a fairly straightforward conversion? I've also recently read about needing 3 bar map and boost sensors which I wasnt aware of?

You can get a Garrett 1446 turbo, you will also need the Downpipe that fits the Garrett turbo with a v clamp.
The standard A500 IHI turbo uses a different connection / Downpipe.   This might be a good time to go for a decat or sports cat.

Some people are fitting the td04 turbo.  Downpipe to fit the td04 turbo is different again. All downpipes are available from Abarth tuning website.

Changing the turbo, boost sensors, injectors will let you get higher power like close to 230-250.    you may also want to consider changing the intercooler , intake, injectors if you are going this route.

If you are staying close to the 200 bhp,  maybe just get your current turbo setup tweaked and mapped.  You can get 170-180 out of this.  Standard Garrett turbo is supposed to be laggy so keep that in mind. 

Don’t forget you will need to upgrade brakes and suspension to deal with the extra power.

All depends how much you want to spend.
