Just sold my OE dampers and springs on ebay for £190 inc delivery to offset the price of my FSD shocks. Useful contribution towards the new set!!

I have the second bidder chasing me for a set for £160 and will collect, IM me if you want his contact details.

Be very interesting to hear all the thoughts on the ride quality with these fellows on board.  A week in France in the car really highlighted how shabby UK road surfaces are when we got back.

My fitting has had to be put off until next week now so somebody may beat me to it, but I will post my opinions as I have lived with the pogo stick for long time now so feel I am a qualified to judge on the differences ;D

;) methinks I beat you to it by 3 weeks.

You will be very impressed post fitment unless your hobbies include the pogo stick, skipping and / or trampolining.

Wife can go for a drive now without a sports bra.

It was your report with the SS that prompted me to go for them, but I'll be reporting for all the NP owners out there  ;)

I was going to wait a while before posting, only went on yesterday, but I didn't take it to the garage (the excellent Bill McGrath Ltd) the report from the driver was glowing though  :thumb:

Only had my short run to work that was very slow this morning but there was a marked improvement in the comfort (as in it has some now) but no degredation to the good handling characterisitics. I couldn't even duck and dive with her like I normally do the traffic was in dull mode so hard to tell any imporvemnet in that area.

I should have some better runs at lunch and I will take her for a blat along some more challenging roads tonight ;D Mine is still on NP springs just as a reminder.

Got mine, on SS springs which I've had for the last 10k.

Fantastic.  It's how it always should have been.  A proper drive on warm dry roads will have to wait, but there's an immediately noticable improvement.  The neutral ride feels much the same and as hoped and expected, the bounciness has gone.  What is a treat is the loss of crashiness (sorry for all this technical jargon) and I can now drive over bumps/potholes without the anticipatory wince of mechanical sympathy.

I wasn't expecting:  Much better turn-in feel; a bit less roll; much less pitching - noticable even on gearchanges, not just braking.

Words like "transformed" and "refined" you've already read are appropriate.

I'm a sceptic by nature and was prepared to be a little underwhelmed.  I'm not about to become rabid in their praise, but I have to say again that these are how the car should have been out of the shop.  I'm not too bothered about lowering, athough the less arse-up stance of the SS springs looks better, and I'm not too bothered about jumping out every half-hour and adjusting (done enough of that with bikes).  They're great.

My only real criticism of the car has been sorted.  Happy days.

The fitting of the Koni shocks sounds really encouraging. :thumb:

I live in London where some of the irresponsible Councils have installed some really high Pyramid traffic calmers (they don't calm me down :thumbd::crazy:) and I find that if I take them either square on or on a single wheel at anything above 2nd gear I am in danger of entering Mark Webber territory!
The problem is compounded if I have a bunch of irritable drivers of 4x4s or BMWs in my rear view mirror. :-[

Any feedback on this with the Konis would be greatly appreciated. :thumb:

I'll start this with one question: Why is Abarth bothering to put these in the new SS kits?  They should be standard fit!

Given we are talking about a short wheel base, large wheeled, stiff springed car it is now almost comfortable. On my in town, slow to work journey I deliberately hit all the rough bits I would normally dive to avoid and it was absolutely brilliant, it transmitted to the cabin but not in that out of control way. Speed humps? Meh no slowing to a crawl to go over them finally, it deals with the impact from them very well and I have a lot on my journey and should save a few minutes.

Tonight I had an hour of chucking my car down the worst pot holed, broken tarmaced lanes, single track roads, dual carriage way, hump back bridges around my home town; you name it I tried to find it. Wow, I am genuinely speechless, had to have a beer just to get thoughts to line up in my head. Totally different car, on roads I used to have to do ~40 on just because you had no idea where the back end was or if the crashing noises from the front were your wheels falling off I was doing 60 and tending to be picking up more speed... naughty boy.

It does still buffet you around but see my previous comment about the physical realities of the car, its going to, however it is still totally planted on the road and I have never had so much confidence in the car when driving down the roads I did, possibly more than any of my cars. The cornering is really smooth and compliant, the bump stops actually helping, rather than hindering the ride, to control the body lean and again as the car is so much more planted with the TTC engaged I was able to pull much more controlled corners at higher speeds than without the Koni's

On the dual carriage way it becomes almost German-esque, firm but surprisingly compliant soaking up the lumps and bumps so well even at motorway cruising speeds, becomes a nice ride and I now look forward to my next long distance journey.

So if you aren't a track king and just want to sort the ride out these are worth every single penny! Want to go lower get the SS springs, job done. I strongly suspect the other two systems regularly discussed on here are technically better for track days etc. but I don't want to change the ride height or adjust my what evers I just wanted fit and play, and the Konis deliver fun time allowance in spades. The, what sound like crazy claims, of both comfort and handling in one easy package are spot on

Just my thoughts from a guy with an NP, a bloody fantastic, go round corners, non-pogo sticking comfy NP, as others have said this is what they should all be like :thumb:

Thanks for the detailed info. :thumb:

I think they will be on the Xmas list. It will be nice to go over rough bits of road without my feet flying off the pedals! :hysteria:
